Sir Poetry ?

Lakeland, FL(Zone 9b)

Has any one bought any seeds from this EBay Seller ? thanks Paul

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

How bout a link to his auction?
Ive never heard of him

I had noticed his listings; he is from Turkey which might explain the slightly strange language he uses 'orchid plumeria' ???

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

I don 't know a thing about him but he is selling "Blue Rose" seeds; check out the picture.

Hmmmmmmm, now that would be special, wouldn't it? (if it were possible)

Lakeland, FL(Zone 9b)

I can tell you not to buy from him. I purchased what was supposed to be plumeria seeds and received something that was crushed beyond recognition. Looked like it was something he swept up off the floor. Didn't look like any plumeria seeds I ever saw. I planted them in vermiculite anyway. I think it is a new type of plumeria Plumeria Grass...lol

As for the Blue rose seeds he is selling someone bought them and I guess the buyer must have grown them because in his feedback he said they were Eustoma russellianum. (Texas Bluebells)

Here's a pic of my Plumeria grass

Baton Rouge, LA

I ordered some seeds a month ago and some about ten days later. Have not received either one. I sent one email and this is the response I got.

"Hi,
July 24 party must be on the way but there is something wrong with the 13th. It should have arrived. Anyhow please inform me a few days later if still not received and I'll immediately solve the problem. Sorry for this, sometimes they get lost unfortunately.
Kind Regards"

This was on 8/4. I emailed him again a couple of days ago and no response. It wasn't a lot of money and I really was not expecting much - its just the principle of the thing. ON the other hand a US dollar in Turkey has a lot more buying power than it has here. I agree with phicks comments. He could be making a goog living.

josegabriele-
How did you pay? If through PP file a complaint. Don't wait because there is s time limit, and he may be trying to delay.

Baton Rouge, LA

I did file a complaint with payPal.

Is your complaint still pending, or was it denied? I find that they usually refund minus shipping unless the seller can prove trackable delivery.

Baton Rouge, LA

PayPal is not that easy to file a claim. First you have to notify them and then you have twenty days to wait because all they do is forward your email to the seller and wait for his response. I did get an answer from the seller in which he offered to refund my money or send me another one. I opted for the refund.

Also, Paypal isn't very helpful in instructing you how to file a claim.

I got my seeds from Sir Poetry today and now I fully understand what Paul was writing about. They look like crushed oregano. From his site, it appears he bought them from someone since he says, "Comes from a professional producer." I am just astounded that the guy would send this.

Also, the instructions appear to be for orchids. Do you think the guy knows what a Plumeria seed is supposed to look like?

I went back and looked at the listing and looked up his feedback. Did anyone notice that all the feedback, ort most of it, because I gave up looking, says private for the item. Usually in the last 60 days, you can look up the item's listing.

Another thing I noticed that is wierd, as an example, this buyer "Jennycraft" gives him many, many positive feedbacks over a period of time, then writes, "THESE DO NOT LOOK LIKE PLUMERIA SEEDS TAKES A VERY LONG TIME FOR SHIPPING."

Here are some other comments, keep in mind the listing is for five seeds,
'More seeds than advertised, just a pity on postage times otherwise good coms" - I guess if they were crushed beyong recognition and you don't know what a plumeria seed looks like, it sure looks like a lot.
"very delicate & decididly interesting--hope mine grow well-many thanx"
"you are certainly generous with the number of seeds you send-many thanks"
"5 seeds-you're joking-more like 25--hope they groow well"
"received, bunch of little seeds more that what I expected thanks"

Paul, did you ever get your seeds to grow? What do they look like?

They say if it appears to be too good to be truem iy is. Live and learn.

Lakeland, FL(Zone 9b)

Lo, yep it looks like grass ill post a pic tomorow also he does not use Bubblre wrap but what he sent me was nerver Plumeria seeds tho i filed to pay pal to . hes a crook geting rich of of us shurgs regards Paul

I would definitely write him and tell him that you did not receive what you paid for. Tell him that you will fill out a Buyer's Complaint with PayPal if he doesn't send you the correct seeds immediately. Make sure you file the complaint within 30 days from purchase as there is a time limit. Fill out the complaint whether he says fresh seeds are coming or not. You can always cancel it later. PayPal keeps a record of these complaints and will suspend a seller from there services if these start to add up.

Tell him the seeds better look like this:

I sure hope you get your money back or correct seeds. It drives me crazy when people get away with this stuff on e-bay. I think everyone has been ripped of at least once. When I look at that picture of the seeds, all I see are LOTS of beautiful plants. Especially the Key West... my brother and SIL just moved away from Key West in June. I never got to go down to visit him. They lost all of their plants in Wilma when 10 feet of water flooded their island of Big Pine Key. (they lost a lot more too... and had no insurance.) I am going to try to start some new plumerias for my sister in law and surprise her. She is really missing her babies. When she moved, the moving company would not let her take any of the few survivors. Said it was illegal to take them across state lines. Now she can't afford to buy any new ones... they are over $30,000 in debt just trying to recover from Wilma.

I would love to try starting from seeds but I am afraid it would be years before I had something large enough to give to her. LOL

BTW, I love seeing pictures of the whole plants including blooms.

Your not alone phicks the eye of wilma came right over my house..
I had insurance and a good policy..
Problem is my Insurance company Atlantic Preferred aka POE file chapter 11 after wilma..
Many like me did not get a penny after wilma..
My damages to this day are totalling past 31,000 dollars..
Yesterday i got good news i went to mediation and the gov't agreed to pay for most of the damages..
They didn't care if i had photos or not they just wanted to settle with me..
They said my check will be here in 7 days i was in total shock in a happy way..
They sign a legal paper stating so and the mediator told me they have to stick with it..
The mediator also told me all claims that came thru the mediation center were paid 100%
this included claims from peeps that had no proof of the damages..
The meeting took 15mins while my wait for a claim took 11 months ;=/
Here is a great link i just found that will help others like me..

Tammie, I am so sorry for your sister's loss. Those are seeds weren't mine that I posted but were sent to me by one friend to give to another friend long ago which I did. When and if I ever get seeds, I will be happy to share with all the regular posters here at the plumie forum. I'm so sorry to Paul and Robert too. That really blows. Glad your situation is getting resolved, Robert.

What Robert said is true and his rephrasing explains what the problem seems to be. Sir Poetry seems to be selling orchid seeds, and his description is very confusing. Plumerias are a hot item on eBay, and others sellers seem to know that plumerias get a big audience so they include the word "plumeria" in their auctions even though what they are selling has nothing to do with plumerias. For example, one seller had "Bulbs, Good With Plumerias" or something like that in her listing. Some sellers try to sneak it in somehow, and that appears to be what happened here. He is selling orchid seeds and put the word plumeria in front to somehow describe the orchid seeds, but it is a bad description and clearly misleading.

Baton Rouge, LA

Clare, do you really think they are orchid seeds? If so, how hard is it to grow orchids from seed.

Also, one of his bags of seed is labelef "Plumeria Pudica" and the white flower that he uses in his listing looks like the Pudicah flower. Are Pudica's seeds different from the normal plumeria seed. I know what a plumeria seed looks like - I've planted a slew of them, but I can't say I have ever seen the seed of Pudica. If I am not mistaken, it is in the plumeria family and not a true plumeria.

Just the same, he is still misleading because he is using the picture of a plumeria flower.

Hi Josegabriele, I don't know if he is selling actual orchid seeds, but that would be my guess. If he has a bag labeled "Plumeria pudica," then those should be strictly plumeria seeds and should look like the regular plumeria seeds. Pudica is a plumeria species and a true member of the genus of plumeria, and generally, the seeds look the same. I agree that he is misleading at best and a scam artist at worst and should be reported and avoided.

argh..
I been throwing seed pods away in the garbage or throwing them over my back fence and i even threw some in my neighbors yard who doesn't take care of it :)

Now i feel bad that peeps bought some on ebay and got rip..
I still have some pods on my pinks and a few others so if anybody wants them just say the word and when they ripe i will send you the whole pod..

Oh, if only I had more room or a GH. Sigh, someone will love you for that offer Robert, it's very generous of you.

My Panama Hawk seedlings are - going to town! I've discovered growing plumies from seeds is one of the most rewarding things a gardener can do for themselves. They are easy, quick to germinate and fast growers. I wish I had known that years ago. The fabulous people here on the plumie forum to convinced me to try.

(Tammie) Odessa, TX(Zone 7b)

I would be happy to accept some seed pods and then share them with everyone else. I even have boxes of bubble mailers to use. (I promise I would not send them crushed). You send the pods, I will do the mailing work. I would love to try starting some from seed also.

Id love some seeds for grafting stock.
beats throwing them out too lol!!
Heavy seed setters are good genetically for creating new hybrids.
Im hoping to see at least 1 seed pod this year, not expecting but hoping lol!!
Next year I think for sure on Pink Pansy.
Thanks Lopaka, You are a generous man. ;^)
I hope it returns to you 1000 fold ;^)

Davie, FL(Zone 10b)

Hey everyone i got all your D-Mails..
Wow didn't expect that many hehe..
The pic i posted here is one of my all time favs..
This is the one i said smells like Strong Baby Powder/Roses..
This is the softest flower out of any plumie i ever own or seen..
Very delicate flower indeed but when you put her in a posy/ring with other
plumie flowers she will outlast many..
My tree is 20+ years old and she blooms first and keeps blooming and she throws
pods out like there is no tomm..

Mike you have a cutting from this tree but if you still want a pod no problemo..
Alot of you ask for pods and no problem i have enough for everyone but i can't give alot to one person it won't be fair :)
Anyone who wants one of my pods from my own tree just send me a D-mail..
Remember the time frame on seedpod maturity so as long as i have your info in
a D-mail i will get you one as promise..

A potent plumie:

A classic example what the heat and the tropics can do to a plumie:
http://www.whitesandsmedia.com/lopaka/20060718_0146.jpg

*Note*
If any of you grow a seedling from one of my trees and it turns out to be a real charmer i got first dibs!!
:)

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Robert, you are so thoughtful! You will make a lot of people very happy here. I'm sure everyone receiving your seed gift would be happy to send you a cutting if their trees turn out to be stunners. Is that Treasure Isle?

Davie, FL(Zone 10b)

Nice quilt, but a little to steep for my budget! Here is T.I. I don't think it is registered. I got mine from Roger in Florida, and I think it is known as a Florida plumie.
