Tropical flowering shurb photos needed

Tampa, FL(Zone 10a)

I am looking for photos of tropical flowering shurbs, just so I have something to talk about. Maybe I will find some new and interesting plants. Anything but hibiscus please. It is Clerodendrum paniculatum.

Sprial jasmine or gardenia in common names. I have never seen it's botanical name.

Last one for today, Caesalpinia, one of the best for mid summer flowers.

Carnation of India or Crepe Jasmine looks like your photo of spiral jasmine. I have a large one in a pot. Flowers have no scent, but look like small gardenias? If it's the same one, the botanical name is: Tabernaemontana coronaria

Mine froze last year, but came back twice as big this summer. If it ever cools down, I'd love to try to propagate a piece. Didn't realize they spiral. Will have to go check mine in the morning! Great pics.
(The fire bush bot. is: Embothrium coccineum...if it's the same one I have here in TX.)

Here's a variegated myrtle (Myrtus communis, if memory serves me).

Not a great shot, but Bauhinia galpinii. Normally more tomato red. Each flower is several inches across.

Carter,

Nice plants. I have a request? Can you show a little more of the shurbs and it's setting? I am interested in seeing the overall shape of the plant. Some of your plants I know, others I have never seen, the Bauhinia grandidier. I have B. galpinii in my front yard, but I just cut in back, it gets leggy for me, not enough sun I guess, almost like a vine.

Do Croton count as flowering shrubs? They do flower, you just can't tell because the flowers are so small.

Pachystaychys lutea...Yellow shrimp plant, I have loved this plant since I was a little guy in Minnesota.

Bougainvillea!

Firespike...Odontonema strictum. I wish I could figure out how to make this one put on more flowers and less leaves.

I will toss another Ipomoea carnea on the pile, the white one, my favorite color in MG's.

Where are these plants? It is a great composition and I can't remember where I took the photo. The bright colored orange/bronze in the middle of the bed is a bromeliad. That's enough for tonight.

And todays haul--of photos. Oleander and vinca, is vinca a shrub or subshrub? Does anyone care? I don't.

I love Lantana, so many colors and more different forms every year. A real tough-as-nails plant from the mint family.

The always exotic Frangipani. It loses its leaves in the cool season. I always look forward to its mid summer flowers and fragrance.

I haven't been able to find a good Tibouchina of any of the species to photograph, but I will. This will have to do, until something better comes along. It is T. granulosa and I have had the best luck with this one, here in Florida. It requires the least amount of care of all the species I have tried.

The best and easiest summer shrub for my area has to be Ixora coccinea. These plants are named hybirds, probably crossed with another specie, but botanically we call them coccinea.

And last for today, a sub shrub--Zinnia. They can be short lived in a real tropical climate but will get huge over time. I am in a marginal/sub tropical area, so they are annuals here. They are still worth a mention.
