It's in a perennial garden with iris, miniature roses and lilies. Here it is when the daylilies are blooming.

That's escallonia compakta (or compacta) Sue. It's supposed to get 3X3 but I've been able to keep it to this size by careful pruning after it flowers. It doesn't get woody in the center and that helps a lot. Thanks for clarifying Sue. I didn't get it at all!

Calif_Sue Thanks, yes I loved the look of the shot with the pink growing below and could not for the life of me figure out what it was.

I just took one of those out this fall because it got to big for its space. I was not aware I could keep it small, thanks for the info I might give it a try again!
