I thought this was a cute pot.
Cute pot
That's adorable! I'll have to keep it in mind the next time JoAnn's or Michael's has a blow out sale on their clay pots.... I like it with the AV, but it would also be cute with other plant "hairstyles!"
I got it at the Deals store. They are like a dollar store and it was only a dollar.
Cool! That's way cheaper than making one... even when the pot go to 4 or 5 for a buck! I got a wild looking ivy the other day with ruffled up little leaves... I'll have to come up with a pot where it can be a wild hairdo.... thanks for getting me thinking along those lines. :-)
I love it. I wish I had one. Linda
Oh That's what I said whem I saw it I Love It !
Adorable Diane ! I would have bought a half a dozen.
that is cute as a button!!!!!! i love it! those would be good gift ideas.

Love them! Wish I could find some here. I'll be on the lookout. Ü
Thanks for sharing.

It is so cute!
Awwww...I want one...two- three,,,several dozen...LOL
We don't have a Deals...Wah!

You know, I've been looking at this adorable pot and I think we could make something very similar, since none of us seem to have a Deals store close by. Three clay pots of the same size, a clay saucer, some glue and paint, and we'd have it all except the arms. I'm still debating on exactly how to create the arms. Anyone have any ideas for the arms?
At first I thought the arms were made from those tiny clay pots that I've seen at craft stores... but if so, they've been cut down for the lower portions of the arms, and I'm not doing that, LOL...
Maybe FIMO or SCULPEY clay? (the kind that can be fired in the oven)
I thought about using fabric and fiberfill for the arms, but I'm not sure that would look as cute... hmmm.... I like the "bumpy" effect of whatever was used for the one pictured... What about heavy rope with a series of big knots tied into it, one knot right up against the next one?
We will have to play with this!
The rope idea sounds like a good one, Jill. Jute might look good. Just 4 holes drilled were the arms come out and go back in. It might even look better...kinda interesting.

Good morning!
How tall is that cute pot? That is the most precious little pot I have ever seen...I am going to check at our dollar store...
TFS!
Joanne
It looks to me like this was poured and fired as all one piece, so the mold would have had the arms in it. There aren't enough obvious seams for this to be several pieces put together. I'll get my husband to put his thinking cap on. He's super creative and can make just about anything. He'll have an idea for sure. I do like the rope/jute idea, too. We'll come up with something, yet!
Wonder if they make little ceramic or plastic hands, maybe sold in the beading section? A rope, tied in knots, with the little hands at the end would be cute. Maybe glue the hands in some position across the belly or something...
Morning!
Sounds like you are creative as well as hubby!
Joanne
My problem is I can see it in my mind, but I can't get my hands to make it look like that. LOL That's where my husband comes in. I explain how I see it in my mind's eye and he tells me how to create it. We're a good team! LOL
The whole thing is 8" tall--top one is 3" across top and 2"tall,
the other 2 are 4" across the top and 2 1/2" tall. I hope this helps. I am going to try and make something similar to it. Will let you know if I can do it.
Thanks, makshi, that does help! I don't think I'd figured out yet that the head was smaller.... hmmm... with stacked pots, that would mean that the bottoms of the pots for the head and the shoulders wouldn't quite match up, but I'm thinking you could use a doubled piece of jute, knotted for the arms, then run one strand around the front of the neck and the other around the back of the neck before knotting for the second arm. That way, the same rope that forms the arms would also be used to hide the seam where the pot bottoms didn't quite meet up.
Morning Makshi!
Thank you for the measurements....it doesn't look that tall. I would love for you to show us one if you make it and critter you too.
Joanne
I know she is cute but I think trying to make one is a lot more expensive than buying one. I figured it would cost about $5.00 or $6.00 to make it. I know that isn't a lot but when I only paid a $1.00 for it it is.
I thought I had posted to this thread.
That is sooo cute, Makshi! I love how the little eyes are 'looking up' at your plant.
I think it looks as though it's from a mold, too....I'm interested, though, to see what you creative folks come up with!
Seems there are a lot of interestingly cute pots/cache pots out there these days.
Nan,
Yes, it is adorable and you are right it is from a mold. I may try something just to see what I come up with from things I have.
makshi,
It is cute and reminds me of a gingerbreadman..lol
MsC
You are right it does look like a gingerbreadman.
