Do Polish Crested hens ever get broody?

Oregon City, OR(Zone 8b)

My favorite hen, Lorraine, is a White Crested Black Polish. She disappeared for a few days. At first I assumed she got taken by a predator, which made me very sad, since she is a pet. She jumps on my shoulder when I say her name, and she is my favorite chicken.

Today I saw her! She's alive!

But then she disappeared again....

I thought Polish Crested hens don't get broody.? Is that what it sounds like? She's only about 6 months old, but is laying eggs.

Mine was very prolific and raised sreveral broods..She was also a pet.

Some do and some don't
90% will not get broody
I have some silvers and some WCB that will set and hatch.......

Sounds like she's got a little clutch hidden somewhere. Can you see where she goes?

No, I don't know where she hides. Most of our chickens (Lorraine included) get to roam freely over 3 acres, with many places to hide a nest.
I'd like to find her, because I'm worried for her safety at night. All the others get locked up at night, for safety.

Larkie & Crestedchik, that's amazing that you've both had broody Polish Cresteds. Every Polish Crested website says they NEVER get broody. Obviously that's not quite true!

The silly chicken changed her mind. She doesn't want to be a mom yet.

I've had people that freak out when they see them setting....let alone mothering a huge clutch of chicks......
