Anybody have a good formula for putting weight on a horse? I plan on taking it slow. Feeding him 4x a day. I We did get some great hay in { it has been so hard with all this rain} which I will save from him. Race horse people use corn oil top dressed on grain. Von gets Vintage victory !0% protein and 10% fat which helped him gain. The vet is coming the week after next for teeth . I plan on keeping him in a separate paddock he can have his stall open so he can go in and out. Worming him full dose I have a little reservations I once wormed a gelding with ivermectin {didn't know his history} and he coliced 2 days later .The vet thought all the worms dying all at once might haved caused it. Any suggestions? I think he will feel more secure with the other horses around and can just relax, eat , get brushed and get plenty of love!
