And look at Snow Cone, the buds are so clustered at the TOP of the plant, and growing like a Datura.

kareoke,
Are yours in the ground year-round? Are they in pots buried to the rim? I'm in zone 8a and hope to be able to leave the seedlings of yours that I am growing in the ground.

Thanks,
Louise

these are in the ground and will need to be dug up this fall, there are a couple I am going to leave and see how they do.
I would think in your zone8 they would be OK
Glad the seedlings are doing good, look forward to seing a flower.

great shots, Snow Cone, too neat, can't wait to see how they actually end up looking after they bloom for you!!

Lookin good! Snow Cone is so thick one might mistake it for a Hydrangea. Mine have bloomed & are in between flushes. Last year they just sort of strung along so I had something blooming most of the time.
I left 3 in the ground last year & they all died. One was up under the eaves of the house where the Cannas make it, but the Brug didn't. So I'm not leaving any out for testing this year. Again this year, I did plant several right into the ground & some near them, just buried the pots & I sure don't see much difference between the them. If I'm not seeing any noticable differences then from now on I'll just bury them all with the pots, makes it much easier to remove them in the fall. Ack! Just thinking about that chore!!!! :l

Your Knightii is pretty . Nice to see it in bloom.

I got a cutting of Knightii years ago from Bonnie but it died before blooming ;-(

Doris does your Knightii always produce singles? Just singles with this flush? .... Or am I not seeing the inner skirt?

Veech PLEASE don't tell me this is NOT Knighti, it is the first time it has bloomed, it was given to me by an DG member He bought a lot of cuttings from "you know where" and they were all labeled, I sure wish it were a double.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Gosh Doris :( ... Knightii is definitely supposed to be a double. Give it another couple of flushes. There's quite a few doubles and triples that sometimes produce only singles. Keeping my fingers crossed that you will see doubles when the weather cools.

LOL Doris. Good for you! But you now have me singing The Thrill is Back........ I will be singing that song all day long! Great pics!!

Well I´m ready to raise the blinds in this place
Think I´ll rejoin the human race
You said yes, now you´re wearing my ring
Guess I can stop playin´ol´ B.B. King.

`cause the thrill is back, the heartache´s gone
Time stands still, baby love lives on
The room spins around, when you´re kissin´ me
The thrill is back like it used to be.

I sure could use a haircut and shave
Now that I´m crawling outta my cave
Since you said we were through
I´ve been down with a case of the blues

But the thrill is back, the heartache´s gone
Time stands still, baby love lives on
The room spins around, when you´re kissin´ me
The thrill is back like it used to be.
