I am going to melt just like the Wizard of Oz wicket witch with this heat. The air is on but I can still feel that awful humidity. My outdoor plants are sure hating it also. I hope it rains tomorrow like it is supposed to.
I'm Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllting
Oh Gosh here it is 94 right now but they said it feels like 100.
We have been lucky getting rain if not we have to water.
The A/C goes non-stop and I'm in bed with a ceiling fan over me !
Stay cool !
Hi,
It has been hot all over they say! Not healthy temps to say the least. We do have cool moornings the last couple days....it was like 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Too cool for this time of year.
Thank goodness for A/C....what would we do without it? I guess we would melt like makshi is...poor thing...hope you get some relief soon.
How do you do in this heat Allison?
I go out early and get home before it gets too hot.
Joanne
I feel like a blob right now! A STICKY blob!
I just now turned on the a/c. It's hot out there but I'm cheap....and the house is cinder block w/ stucco and concrete floors so it stays fairly cool most of the day. I've got a small fan on top of computer hutch blowing down on me and another box fan sitting across the room, blowing thru the legs of the desk.
*Sniff*Sniff*Do I smell bacon burning? x$xxxxx$;@ p

Here it is 95 but the heat index is more than 100. But I prefer this heat. I hate winter.
It's 7 pm here 94 but the weather man says feels like 100. Our A/C runs non-stop and I'm in bed by vent and ceiling fan on high all the time. I am looking forward to Sept..December :))
Our AC runs non-stop and everything in the yard is dried up. It's way too hot to work in the flower beds and the weeds are taking over. It's supposed to go down to the mid 80's this weekend, so maybe we get a small break from the heat. Fall can't be too far away - we have a pre season football game next Friday night.
It scares me to think about the power going out. I feel just terrible for people that don't even have fans. My son said mom there aren't people that don't have at least fans. I told him that there are plenty of people that don't have fans. The poor people that are homeless is another thing I worry about.
The temps are no better here in New Jersey. My SUV has a built in thermometer, and on the drive home from work yesterday (4:00PM), it registered between 102-105. With the heat index, it is supposedly between 110-115. Normal temperatures for this time of year are about 80-85, with high humidity. We're tying to conserve some energy by only running the air when absolutely necessary, but with temps at 100+, there's not much you can do *but* run the air.
Hopefully the storm they are predicting will bring some rain, too, besides cool things off. We're not under watering restrictions yet in my town, but if we don't get some rain soon...
Stephanie
Stephanie,
Gosh, I forgot about people with water restrictions. We haven't had that happen here yet.
another thing with this heat is we are having the smog alert days and hurts people with asthma and allergies. i took kids swimming with a friend yesterday and was outside for several hours. last night my asthma was acting up so bad! i had to use inhaler and had a hard time for awhile. my husband said the smog alert was orange and i am sure that is what did it for me. i am looking forward to fall so this asthma will calm down. hope everyone stays cool : )
kelly
Kelly,
I know how you feel. You should stay inside.
