Crispy cuttings...

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

I purchased various cuttings off ebay a few months ago...some doing better then others...none have died on me yet...LOL. One of the cutting's top 1/3 looks crispy...I thought maybe that particular cutting had died but when I went to pull it up...there was much resistance. Thoughts anyone? Do I cut off the crispy section...leave it be? I'm not sure what is best for the plant. All of them are beneath my big ficus and this cutting is the only one that's done this. Note: it's in a pot with 3 other cuttings of the same Epi. Thanks for any helpful hints.

Chantell, I just ran across this thread. How's the epi cutting doing?

Ugh!! I yanked that one - it just kept getting worse and worse...the other's seem to be doing ok...need to check on them all. I guess different types grow at different rates. I just worry...as I paid decent money for these particular ones.

I also bought some cuttings from Ebay...a few of mine got kind of crusty and dried up after I planted them...I went on a trip, and when I came back, I had new growths coming out of a dead and dried up cutting!! I was really surprised! I mean, this cutting is in a pot, brown and shriveled, with new shoots at the top! I am a new epi grower, and I was going to toss it when I came home.....so, I guess I will wait. I am pretty amazed.
