What a lovely bee melody! It just came up on the Fun Random Bug and I was so pleased to see it. I had heard of sweat bees and wondered what they look like - much nicer than the picture the name conjures up!

This one is a pretty little guy. There are others that are not quite as unique.

The metallic ones are quite interesting.

Yes, he's lovely! We have some metallic bees here but they are minute. I've been trying to photograph them - so far without success.
