Habak mint lookin good

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

I love this mint for it s unusual foilage, one of my favorites. Although I usually don't let it flower, I get behind sometimes in cutting off the blooms. And I'm way behind, I cut the blooms off so it won't cross with the others , in case anybody wanted to know that

Well, what do you want to know about it.

It's hardy here in zone 7, and where you are too, spreads by underground runners like all the other mints, it's got a lighter mint tone to it not as strong as other mints. nice purple flowers, and it's the only mint that has leaves like this, all other mints are similar in looks but this one, it stands alone, It's quite unique, it's also called Bible mint, i'm not sure why, but that's it's other name.

How's that ?

Can you use it in medicinals or cooking? It is surely pretty. pod

No as far as I know this is an ornamental mint,

A mostly aromatic and ornamental mint whose provenance is Biblical: this is the mint referred to in the Bible as the one to be used for the payment of taxes. Beautiful gray-green color and a fitting addition to the herbal prayer or meditation garden.

Interesting blooms--thanks for posting.

Taxes, hummmm. Too bad that is not still true. We would all be familiar with this mint. It is pretty.

yeah, I thought it was weird, but found that info on the net, but it's commonly referred to as bible mint, guess that's why

Definitely. That is one neat looking mint... And it's so pretty, I might be inclined to let it roam more freely around the property :-)

Its not a fast spreader, this one is about 3 years old, while others are span out over 5 feet in a years time, I like the fact that it doesn't take over.

Yet it holds up well in August while all the otthers are leggy and ugly this is still quite stunning .
