These seeds came from a large (4-1/2 lb.), red flesh papaya from the grocery store. I dried them and I guess they are ready to plant. I googled 'papaya cultivation' and pulled up many sites. I think I'll try to grow a few! The picture below was of the last few slices that went into a smoothie and of the seeds offered.
If you want about 20 seeds, send your SASBE. I'm in the address exchange.

Papaya seeds for SASBE
You should have sown some before dring, they will come up in 3 days, after dring can take awhile.
Greg
Greg,
I'm new at this and I thought maybe it would not set fruit if it's current life cycle wasn't completely closed. I will soak the seeds before I plant them and maybe it won't take too long.
How long was it from your planting to the first harvest of fruit?
How tall was your plant?
Louise
Louise,
I would like some of your papaya seeds, but I only need about 5 of them.
Is your address in the addy exchange?
Dolores,
Yes, I am in the exchange. I think the last 6x9 bubble env. I sent required 63 cents postage.
Thanks,
Louise
Hi Louise
You can get fruit in about seven to eight months with enough sun, If you are in a frost prone area you would want to start them indoors and plant out in full sun after last frost, they get large fast, 6 months growth they will be 7' tall or more. I control th growth by getting them to about 6' and clipping the growth bud and they will start branching off, don't clip it any shorter than that I have had plants that did'nt flower when I clipped them to short.
I TX. you could get 10' -15' tall plants.
Greg
Greg,
OMG! I do have a lot to learn about growing these!
In East Texas, our first frost is usually mid to late November.
That is a long season. I've picked purple hull peas on Thanksgiving day before.
Sounds like a new adventure here. Now, to the books to
check up on the nutritional benefits of papaya. I know I have seen it listed in the tablets to replace digestive hormones.
That's one reason I decided to try to grow them.
Thanks,
Louise
I would love some, but won't be able to send sasbe until the end of the month, Hubby and I are out of town.
Connie
