ID my CANE begonia

The Heart of Texas, TX(Zone 8b)

I've had this cane begonia for a really long time.. somewhere in it's history I lost it's name tag...
It is a wonderful plant & can get really huge. It's one of the 3 large cane begonias I have kept from my older collection & would love to have it ID.

Thanks for any help.

Hiya Lottie, I think it's a bit like AV's there are so many cultivars that look so similar that you may just never know. Some are dead ringers and easy to ID, but not all. It's a beauty for sure. It must be enjoying your dry heat? Or are you growing it in your shade house?

Mmmm... I guess I thought it was so common that there would be others like it out there somewhere. Well...I was hoping there would be.lol

Ye,s it is doing well in the shade house. The other 2 canes I have are out front and are not doing as well, so i will have to move them to the back.
I'm amazed that anything outside is still alive, it is so hot, windy & dry here.

Thank goodness for house plants!

Thanks,

Those deep deep colored blooms and matching reverse make this a real winner.

I agree that it is Lucerna or close enough to count as it.

Thanks folks... I'll see if I can find a pic of Lucerna to compare it to.
Most of my begonia books & mags are still packed away.

I do like the deep colors Kell ,it is a real winner if it can stay alive out here in the desert atmosphere...lol
