Gardening on a slope

Eastchester, NY

Greetings fellow gardeners!

I have a challenging slope area (at least for me) that faces west, is primarily in partial shade, and the slope angle (using a clever on line calculator and measuring the rise and run) is about 27 degrees. I live in zone 6b. English Ivy seems to have grown well on the slope, as well as some perennial tulips. However, I have minimal space on the rest of the property and would like to enjoy more than ivy on the slope (i.e. would like to look at more than green and would prefer a colorful garden)

Any suggestions about design, choice of perennial flowers, ornamental grasses (? placed on the bottom?) and select hostas would sure be appreciated.

I will upload an image ASAP.

Thanks,

Anthony
