Here is one of our native passiflora. I lost the botanical name (puppy chewed the tag). The buds are so tiny. The flower are mabe 1/2-1 inch across.
Native passiflora
Passiflora coriacea aka bat leaf Passiflora.
Mine is passiflora bryonioides someone from the southwest gardening thread tracked it down where I bought it.
I love the color of the flower on yours. Where did you get it?
Aloha Tropicals. Was a nicely rooted plant for all the bad feedback they get. I got 3 differnt ones and they were all great. Only Sunburst Whorley has bloomed so far
I will check with a friend but I though Bryonoides was supose to be just like Morifolia? I'll let you know if I hear anything. You interested in any trades?
thanks,
Mark
Your plant is Passiflora Mexicana, he asked me to ask you how the flowers smell, or what they smell like?
Mark
Mark you have d-mail
marieortiz, did you say that you "had" purchased your vine at DS? Because if so, it has to be one of the 3 that I listed on the other forum, and after looking at the mexicana pics, it sure looks like it. DS only has that one, and the foetida for sale right now
I thought it looked like mexicana, too, but the pics didn't show the leaf shape real well. The flower certainly looks like it.
This one I purchased at Tohono Chul I thought now you all have me very confused...(I know not hard to do) So maybe it is mexicana then.
LOL when I called TC, they only said they sell the Bryonoides. Now...whether that's all they have NOW, and had something different then...is a different story.
One thing is for certain, it HAS to be one of the three, if it is an AZ native :)
And bad me for my bad memory..you DID mention that you'd bought it at TC

I thought I bought it at TC but maybe I did get it at DS. Like I said I am totally confused which just means I need to buy both again to be sure what I have. :o)
LOL good one! That line needs to be saved as a "cya" line :)
