Good morning Monday!!!!

I sure hope it will be. Right now I am nursing my back / hip. It is telling me that all of that work I done outside yesterday was too much. I took my pills a bit earlier than normal in hopes the pain will ease up before I leave for work.
DH did all the heavy lifting yesterday putting in Windsor stones for a flowerbed edging. We have about 10 foot still to go from a 35 foot strech. I went in front of him on a pillow digging out roots, grass etc. But it will look so good when it is finished.

Well I am feeling more like enduring the world today now......hope you all have a fine one...later.

Good morning! Some wake by the crow of a rooster; some wake by the ping of alarm. I get waked by a houseshoe slapped across my face by the Golden Retriever -- her subtle way of telling me "we all need to go OUT!"

At least I know they're housebroken.

Happy Monday! Good morning!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Good morning! I hope you're having fun with your visitors, Connie. And I hope your pain pills continue working, Sheila, and you aren't in too much pain all day. Ouchie.

Quoting:

LOL Susannah!

Usually I have an hour or so of quiet time after my husband leaves for work and before the bunnies (my two daughters) wake up. But last night the 5 year old fell asleep during dinner and then slept through the night (except for a brief "Is it morning yet?" episode at 3am (yawn..) She woke up to Daddy's alarm this morning, and has been hippity hopping around and talking like she has been awake for hours. LOL So now I'm typing this with "Sesame Street" playing in the background and the silly bunny popping in every few minutes to ask silly questions. I need some caffeine! LOL The 3 year old is still asleep. I'll get her up at her normal time.

Hey, Guys....I have a few minutes before Aunt Wanda and Uncle Wayne awake...they're retired and sleep late. Then we're going for a late breakfast.

Sheila...hope all your work from yesterday doesn't stop you from doing fun stuff today!!

Susannah....how funny...your account of the "houseshoe slapped across your face"! At first --being half-asleep--I read it as "horseshoe" and I thought it was the dog's huge foot you were metaphorically referring to...LOL

Marylyn, oh for the days again of little ones....mine are 26 and 23 and sometimes I wish I could turn the clock back!

Boerne new zone 30, TX(Zone 8b)

Managed to get up early before leaving for work to water the few things I didn't get watered yestday.

I planted 9 grasses, 18 flowers, 6 bushes, 1 succulant and 1 cactus on Sat. I KNOW it isn't the best time of year to plant but I had them and needed to plant them. *g Now I just have to keep them alive.

The snount butterflies are all over the lantana and chocolate mint again today. For some reason they aren't bothering the butterfly bush.. I only see the larger butterflies there. I saw one that was sorta yellow and green irridesent that looked real cool but couldn't get a pic of it. (they will NOT stand still!).

so now another day in front of the computers at work...

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

Today is my one day of the week to water with a sprinkler, so I've been moving it around the front. The section between the neighbors' garage and mine really looks bad. Still haven't reached two sections, so will try to get to them after 8 p.m. I'm having trouble keeping the bird feeders and water pans filled. I have a bird bath that I want to set up today. Drought is so stressful for the wild birds.

Boerne new zone 30, TX(Zone 8b)

Well I called my water company cuz I just couldn't remember what/when I was allowed to do what. *g

I can water by hand m-f anytime. I can't use a sprinkler. I can't use a soaker hose. I can't water on sat or sun.

Sooo guess what I'm gonna be doing tonight? Sitting in different places in the yard watering! *giggle

Frisco, TX(Zone 8a)

Connie That was funny reading you had seen 'horseshoe" in Susannah's post. i did too!I didn't have the excuse it was too early as i just read it now after work.

Marylyn, When my kids were small my son always woke up around 5:30am raring to go for the day. because i am not, nor ever will be, a morning person I convinced my husband we needed the Disney channel so i could set him in front of it while I grabbed some coffee and tried to wake myself up for the next 45 minutes.Cherish these times, mine are now 23 and 19 and I miss those early mornings when they are all snuggly bunnies...nancy

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I am SO grateful that neither of my girls are morning people. Charles and I are definitely night owls and I would be a very grumpy mommy if one of the bunnies persisted in waking me up at 5:30am! LOL I love snuggling with them during the morning sleepies, though. :-)

Right now the little one is taking a nap and the big one is sitting on the kitchen floor drawing space ships. Oops.. now she is writing her name on her leg (in pen) and saying "silly silly silly." Goofy bunny. I have no idea where she gets the goofiness... Must be from her daddy's side, right? :-D

I should get busy in this messy kitchen. Between chase-and-tickling games and potty breaks, and cleaning up spilled snacks, and all of the other regularly scheduled activities, I've been working on descriptions for a bunch of stuff we're going to list on eBay tonight. I have empty yogurt cups and stray Cheerios and other "stuff" all over the counters and table, which is going to make getting dinner somewhat of a challenge. LOL

How was Monday afternoon for all of you? How's your back, Sheila?

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

DH and I and the aunt and uncle went to a local breakfast cafe and then on a "drive-around" for them to get re-acquainted with Austin (not here for about 15 years). The drove DH to airport for week's work, then more driving around. Then to the Oasis Rest. on Lake Travis for late lunch/dinner. Now home and getting sleepy...at 6:19...weird...hope I"m not getting sick!

DFW area, TX(Zone 8a)

I just covered the Golden Retriever's eyes -- don't want her to get any ideas about hitting me in the face with a horseshoe in the morning. The houseshoe is quite shocking as it is!

Here's the guilty party, looking goofy, being silly:

Is it too late to post for this morning??! Saturday, had pea sized bump under my eyelid (had been there a few weeks) that puffed up the top of my lid. I'm hardly ever sick, so was only mildly concerned. Last night I "peeked" under the lid and.. yuck!!!! Planning the funeral.....Got an appt this afternoon, prepared to hear the worst.....doctor said it was probably just a duct backed up. That's all??? Then I 'zoned out' because I was so relieved I wasn't going to look like a pirate the rest of my life. Barely heard the rest of what he said. 'Caught..''try boric acid compress before going to opthomologist....ask pharmacist.'' So...I go to pharmacy and ask where the boric acid is...'cause it must be different than what I think it is. Nope, it's just what I think it is....roach poison. Pharmacist says just use a little. Define "little?" Just a little, she says. Leave without it. Go to grocery store and ask their pharmacist. He explains to me veeerrrry slowly and carefully that it's okay.....as long as I don't get it in my eyes. He senses my growing frustration, so suggests a ready made solution called "Purified Water" ($6.95 for 3 oz.)) with a teeny bit of boric acid in it. Going to try it tonite. Told DH that at least I won't have bugs on my face after the boric acid treatment. He said I wouldn't have kisses there either.

Susannah..that is the cutest pic I've ever seen! Such a HAM!~!! :)

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Connie...when do you start school? Bruce leaves Saturday for Illinois. I have 10 days to get into mischief.....

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Yuska, your caricature is cute; weeds beware!! LOL!

That pic of Puzzle is cute Susannah!! Such an imp, looks like he was rolling after a bath.

Your eye story is funny BB, don't think my DH would be too anxious to plant a kiss either. Hope it works!

Glad you are surviving your company Connie!! It is strange to come back to a town after a long time, they do change.
Read BB's post...Don't you two get in to trouble now...!

My back was tolerable today after I took the meds. Then again tonight it started again since it was time to take my evening dose. I forget to take my pills when I feel good and interested in doing something, but the back remembers and gives me a not so gentle reminder. I go see a surgeon on the 17th as to my future options. I just want to be able to mow the lawn, weed eat it, and play in the garden. Oh, and pick up my great nephew and neice. Not to much to ask is it? lol!
Speaking of my GN, DS emailed me today and said she and his mom were watching a landscaping show and they built a Koi pond and waterfall. He is 1 1/2yrs old; and I am She-she, and the DH's name comes out as Mermein. He pointed at the TV and said "She-she and Mermein's pool". Our's is a Koi pond, but he has a pool; but the connection was there!! LOL!
