I planted a lot of seeds this year and love them so much that I want to share. I'm also looking for new variety of seeds to start adding to my yard for next year. So I figured that if I put together a group of us to do a group trade, we'd all have more. This is how it will work, I will pick 5 (even though I could do more, we'll make it easy this first time around) I'll take those 5 different kinds of seeds and make 5 seperate lots to send out to 5 other people. So each of them will get the all of the 5 different seeds on my list. In turn those other 5 people will post their 5 choices of seeds that they are going to collect and make 5 seperate lots of thier 5 seeds. So we will all get a bunch of new seeds to plant for next year.
I'm going to list my list of 5 with 2 alternatives (just in case one of our 5 doesnt perform well with seeds).
Try to offer a different variety than what the others offer, or a different color. We wont be trading these till fall time so we can have time to gather seeds and post pictures of how they are doing right now.
My seeds are:
1. Fushia Four Oclocks (also have yellow)
2. Candy strip and pastel Cosmos
3. Armanthus pigmy torch
4. Clover (burgandy spiked)
5. Fushia Morning Glory....one of my favorites...
alternate- white snap dragons
alternate- Batchlor buttons
Those of you that decide to do this, could you dmail me your address. When we have our 5 then I'll send you all one dmail with all the addresses on it to get your lots put together. In the mean time I will be posting pictures of what I'm sending as they bloom....IM SO EXCITED......

Okay guys.....I have closed thread so that we dont get any more...lol....as you can see i added a 6th spot...i cant leave someone out when I hadnt closed the thread yet...hope that is okay that we will be doing 6 seeds instead of 5....so at the top I edited mine to reflect 6.....:0)
I'll get some of my pics posted here in just a bit.
THIS IS GONNA BE FUN!
Lesh
Make sure you add this as a thread to watch....I always forget....
The seeds that I would like to add are:
Purple Liatris
Burgundy perennial Hibiscus
Rose of Sharon - Aphrodite
Rudbeckia - Indian Summer
Money plant
okay here is my armanthus pigmy tourch....this little guy was not suppose to be there. The seeds are soooo small and he got mixed in with my four oclocks. Of coarse I didnt pull him. He got planted late so he's not nearly as tall as he could be. This one is only 4 -5 weeks old. I love the folage contrast.
I should figure out how to post all of my pics on one response. Im new at this. lol.
This is my morning glory. I unfortuately planted alllll my seeds late because we just moved into this house. It has been a chore getting all the waist high weeds out and seeds in. Usually my morning glory is 3x the size of this. They are so reliable. Love them.....They also tend to bloom well into the morning till around noon. They also reseed very well, almost too well.
Oh my heck I am not the brightest......I just relized that I never added myself to the list.....So that makes 7 of us. R u guys okay with this? Will you have 7 different seeds to list? I am sooooo sorry......I will donate extra seeds if some of you dont have 7 different kinds of seeds. Let me know if 7 is too much for any of you if you want to withdraw, I will totally understand. As soon as I get all of your responses and lists of seeds, I will make one master list of seeds and our cute little group. Once again, I am sooo sorry.
Lesh
To make things easy to put together, could you dmail me your list of 7 seeds?
Thanks again guys
Lesh
Im gonna add zebrine malva ( i think thats what its called, and Hot pink and white striped holly hocks double bloom)
I could add maximillian sunflower to make 7 kinds of seed. But if anyone is having a hard time coming up with 7 different kinds of seeds, rather than them leaving, I'll go since I'd be the 6th then. It wouldn't be fair that they'd have to leave when they're on the original 5.
Hmmm, I'll try to come up with 7 different kinds. Just a thought, though...do we need as many kinds of seeds as we have participants, or could we just do the original 5 types of seeds with 7 packs of each? Not trying to throw a cog in the wheel, just thinking out loud. LOL I'll go out today and see what all I can get seeds from.
OH THATS A GREAT IDEA. ya we'll just do that 5 seeds with just 7 packets. Oh you are so smart...lol...
cjolene. U have to stay. Its worked out now. :)
Lesh
I think that's a great idea too. Is sheran joining us too? Then we would need 7 packs. If not we would only need 6 packs of each variety. We wouldn't need seed packets for ourselves. I can get 7 packs of each of what I'm going to offer. I might be able to add other varieties as seeds ripen and become available.
I tell you what, since I am out of town as we speak and won't be back until the end of this month, why don't I bow out now, and catch the next swap when I get home from vacation. I don't know when I will be able to connect to the net again, Alesha just take my name off the list, okay :o) I don't even know what I will have left by the time I get back home, my daughter is suppose to water my plants, but if she just goes over once a week, They will all be burned up, Monroe, Mi heat index is like 110/115 and with out me there to baby my plants, I am afraid they are goners :(
I will catch the next swap. You all try to stay cool,
Connie
Okay everyone…..here is the list of plants and members we are going to be trading with. I will be sending you the addresses by dmail soon. Thanks guys.

you can put maximillian sunflower as my other alternate. ; )
Just checking to see if this is still going to be happening?Haven't heard any more about it. Nancy
Im sad we havent had more pics posted. My seeds are just about ready. Hopefully everyone elses are too. I will get the addresses sent out so we can start to send things. Thanks for following up.
Lesh
I believe we have about a month or so to go. I think we're waiting for all the plants to turn to seed. ; )
My cat knocked over my gloriosa daisy seeds- they went all over the floor! And I didn't see it right away, so the cat ran through the mess several times before I did! I'm telling ya, that cat almost had to find a new home! But I just didn't feel like groveling all over the floor picking up small seeds, sorry guys...they were everywhere! So expect an alternate for that one. ; )
I haven't taken pictures of the others yet- oops...the sedum isn't even blooming yet, though. ; )
lesh, I am back from vacation and if you don't mind, I can send seed for this, but it's up to all of you if you want me back. Connie
edited to say Lesh I would love some of your Fushia Morning Glory's

I dont see that it would be a problem. Ill go threw our list and get things organized. I feel so scattered with this internet site. Its hard to organize. Maybe I just havent gotten it down. lol. I need to get more pics loaded. My amanthus is huge, I cant believe how big it got this year. I get people stopping by my house just to look at it. lol. Its kinda mutant looking....lol.
Lesh

Next time you do this I would love to join. Would you please let me know. Gosh how in the world did I miss this......LOL....You all have fun.
Thanks

I don't have a great variety like you all do, but I am slowly working on it.

Will list what I will be sending some time this week. Connie
Lesh, would you let me know, too, if you do this again? Sorry I missed it - should have some interesting late bloomers to add in a few weeks.
Thanks,
Karen

Pretty. Im excited. I have a few more that I am waiting on. But if you want to send them out, I'll get the list of addys
Lesh
I'm still waiting on a couple of mine also. The hibiscus and rose of sharon are not ready yet.
Hi alesha, was wondering if you received the seeds I sent for the trade?
Connie
Kathy, how do you collect seed from rose of sharon, I have pink and blue?
cg
cg, After the flower dies a large green pod grows. After it turns brown and starts to crack open pick them. allow to dry a couple days before storing. The seeds are brown woody semicircles with a yellowish hairy fringe. My pods are at the green stage right now. Just waiting for them to turn brown so I can harvest them. Good luck.
