I was just out and this amazingly colored swallowtail just flew in , let get off a couple shots and then was gone. I so badly want it to come back. John
New to me
ohhh! Beautiful. Great picture!
I know what you mean about wishing it would come back. There's a gorgeous Tiger Swallowtail that I'm dying to get a picture of. So, for now, it just teases me by flying right past me without stopping.

Beautiful butterflies!!!
Lovely!
Somehow, I missed getting my zinnia seeds sowed this spring.... there will be zinnias again next year! :-)
A Painted Lady. Great pics! Notice how every one of them is on a zinnia?! That's why I let those things reseed and take over. The do exactly waht I need and are cheap!
The Gulf Frits are the ones that lay eggs on the passion vines.
They used to plant zinnias in big containers at Jones Beach on Long Island, and every September they'd be full of Monarchs fueling up for takeoff.
John you are getting some wonderful pic there. had my first monarch Saturday and had a Queen flying around out the old homestead when I dropped by to check on things
Breathtaking!!!!!
John, those were beautiful! Thank-you!
Joh, please continue to share ALL your wonderful pics. I'll enjoy as many as you can post, I promise.
gram
absolute perfect pics John. No don't stop posting but maybe start a new thread so it doesn't take to long to load for those that are on dial up
John are all these photo's coming from around your home? It's really amazing the vast variety of differant kinds you have.Your really gifted at taking your pictures.Don't stop ,it's something to look forward too when I log on and not just you but most of the great photographers on this site. After trying to get a half way decent shot of a butterfly and seeing how hard it really is.It's one thing to be able to attract a butterfly to see it yourself and maybe a few of your neighbors. But,clearly it another thing to be able to take a really great photo of it and share it's true beauty with the world. So all you out there taking the time outside waiting to get that great shot,Please keep doing it and for sure keep posting them.Just seeing them adds lots of flavor to my day,Thanks
you are on a roll John lol. Keep them coming
Donna, I have nothing but time on my hands and you dont know what you just asked for. I have never had a camera nor have I ever had flowers. Now I am a danger. My DMIL wants to make a quilt with all my butterfly pics. I have over 800 so far. I am having a hard time choosing which ones to print on the iron-ons. John
oh John that would be so lovely. Talk about a family keepsake to pass down
