Does anyone know how long it takes for a green pepper plant to start producing? The tomatoes that I planted at the same time as peppers are all producing. My pepper plants have not grown much nor have they begun producing anything. I do see a few blooms on them though. Anyone know about this? Any ideas for helping them along?

I didn't get fruit set on my Valencia bell peppers until I hand-pollinated the flowers, but that may have been a coincidence.

My sweet banan pepper plant is stil about ten inches tall how pitiful! A few weeks ago I gave it epsom salts and fertilizer , and it looked greener, but this heat wave had it wilting. Given the puny plant I'm surprised to have even gotten the four fruits I have. I have read epsom salt gives them magnesium which they require. I have had more plant growth in previous years. Has our weather been that weird this year?

Hi Ruby

Might try posting your question on the veggie forum. I never had any luck growing peppers, I heard they do better if you don't fertilize them. The fertilizer just makes more plant and leaves.

My friend has huge peppers on her small plants that she is growing in small pots, but she is home to water them all the time.

I am getting a lot of ripe tomatoes, I ate one for lunch and cut up 2 for dinner with salt, pepper, olive oil, and balsamic vinager. Yummy!
