What is this guys name? ... please and Thank you :)
What am I?
Oh Vicki what a nice find. Looks like a White Peacock to me
Thanks Donna :) Yes it is White Peacock. I did a search for FL Butterflies and he was one of the first to pop up.
Does a deeper color on the wing edge like in the second picture mean anything?
maybe difference in male and female
Vicki,
Do you see them often there?
The book I'm looking at say's Sexes: similar, though female is larger and has broader wings.
Thanks guys.
Don I never paid much attention before. I did read they are common in FL. They like areas that have water. I live beside a canal. I also read they are shy and you might as well forget trying to get a closeup pic. The two I saw in my back yard today were hams for the camera. They certainly weren't shy lol! :)
Beautiful!!! I've talked to others in FL and although they were supposed to be common there, they were very excited. I would be!
I'm so dumb about butterflies I don't know what to get excited about lol! :)
LOL...you aren't dumb, just not informed yet! Sometimes I don't have time to research things so the easiest way to learn is just ask someone!
You'll get more excited the more you learn what is and isn't common to your area.
What a great shot!! I'm not sure I'd want to see anything any closer than this! I'm jealous now so I might have to run out and macro some bugs too!
awesome Vicki
Plenty of links here to research
