I don't have any plants to trade but I do have plant pots 3" x 3 1/4". What i'm looking for is rooted cuttings of Jasmines/Jessamines and mint. I have spearment so any unusual mints and any fragrant Jasmine vines. If it's allowed and you have the cuttings just tell me how many pots you want.
Veronica
CLOSED: Is this allowed?
peppercrazyaz, there is nothing wrong with trading other things for plants. Good luck.
Mystic, thank you!
But, now that I know that i'll be going through my entire house plus the kitchen sink! =D
Hey I might need a new kitchen sink. lol
lol
I have chocolate mint Robin
A fair trade is whatever you an another person work out! I've seen many other people trade for pots. Good luck!
Oh, and I don't want to see the postage on that sink! LOL
Welcome to DG! I see you have not been here very long. Have fun. Unfortunately I don't have any of your wants.
Thank you Badseed! lol I would have to walk that sink over =D
Maineroses, I love chocolate mint! Send me a D-Mail and tell me what you want for it.
That's a looooooooooooong walk but think of the $$$ you'd save on gas. LOL
I have Jasminum nitidum and J. polyanthum, cuttings, rooted and potted up. If still interested, send me a Dmail. SB
I have spearmint, chocolate mint, and Kentucky Colonel mint (a type of spearmint, great for juleps).
Also to tempt you I have Greek oregano and French tarragon (hey, they're both in the mint family LOL!). Let me know if you are interested so I can started rooting cuttings.
I have a living breathing full LEMON MINT PLANT that I will trade you for none of your pots, i.e. I will send it to you and you will notice how much it cost me in postage and you will send me a check for that amount. That's permitted here on Dave's Garden. It's called "sending it for postage."
xxxxx, Carrie
That's very generous, thank you! My address is in the address exchange. Are you sure you wouldn't like me to throw something in the mail along with the postage??
Thanks again,
Veronica
I have pineapple mint that I could root some cuttings of for you, since you've already got chocolate mint. I have lemon mint too. Or maybe it's lemon balm? Anyway, you can have some... :-) I don't need pots, just postage and patience. It's awfully hot to send things right now here.
Thank you 4 paws! Is your address in the exchange?
lol I feel like I gotta send something with the postage....some fresh baked bread..a first born son...???
Will the first born son be able to lift things I can't? Help around the house? You have a deal! I'm in the address exchange, but maybe I should pick him up.....! There's a solid possibility I'll be down your way later in the year or early next, so maybe you can have him out of diapers by then? lol
Don't worry. Someday you'll have something I'll want and won't have anything but postage. But let me get stuff started - and wait until the temp drops some. Is that ok? Don't send anything until I send you something!
Well, the first born is now 18 years old and I have a hard time getting him to lift anything up and forget about doing anything around the house! lol
thank you so much I can wait until later...this heat is terrible!
oops, a little too old, :-)
Postage will be peachy, I took cuttings today.
Would you like me to send postage now? I can approx an amount and send it right out!
V
Oh no, when you get the package!
:-)
Hi, The heat wave is due to end tonight or tomorrow (I can't wait), so I should be able to start some mint for you this weekend.
ACK! Guess who forgot to watch this thread....me. OK. Allow me to point out that I was the first one to volunteer to send you an entire lemon mint plant! I'll have that to you long before the cuttings root. Sorry I was asleep at the wheel there!
xxxxx, Carrie
Carrie, lemon mint is one I don't have.
bbinj,
I can split it between you if you like! This is one I'm trying to erradicate from this particular bed. [Is it a Freudian slip if my youngest (at 12, she weighs more than I do) is in bed with me? I wouldn't mind digging her out of my bed!]

Hi Carrie,
Oh boy, yes! What can I give you in return? Postage? Another mint? French tarragon? Greek oregano?
Pepper, my Ky Col mint didn't fare so well through the heat wave :-( . DEfinitely not for Casa Grande, AZ! I may need a replacement plant myself.
But I can do spearmint, French Tarragon, Greek oregano. You're already getting chocolate mint from someone else. Would you want a peppermint-scented pelargonium (like a geranium, and it should be OK where you are, it's a South Afrtican native; I'll have to bring mine in for the winter)?

Pepper, I rooted for you spearmint, chocolate mint as a back-up (let me know if you don't want it, I'll give it away here), French tarragon, Greek oregano, minte-scented pelargonium. When I have roots, I'll let you know when I'm shipping. Send me a D-mail. The Ky Col mint is looking better, if I can get a cutting rooted, I'll do that too.

bbinj,
oregano would be nice - will it do ok in a pot? will sprearmint be ok? maybe jjusr postage! i love spearmint - but if I plant it in the durt, it takes over the yard. I guess I need to plant up a BIG pot of herbs with pots of mint so the spearmint can think it's taking over the world but really just take over one pot! I lie using fresh herbs.

I've had oregano do well in a large pot. I have some now in a wine barrel with tarragon and thyme, plus some in the ground. All my mints are in 1+gallon pots in the ground, for just the reason you state, Carrie.
I think what I have lemon balm, not lemon mint. That grows like crazy here and I think it's considered invasive in my neck of the woods.
Golly gee, I deeply apologize for my ghastly spelling! Both Monarda citrioda and Melisa something-or-other go by both "lemon balm" and "lemon mint". The Melisa I have was actually bought and planted (during a period of temporary insanity); the Monarda arrived on the wind or via bird poop or something - it showed up as a volunteer but I wasn't recruiting at the time! It is a wildflower in some southern states, and has sort of mauve flowers in July up here. Let me get this straight: I am taking the entire Melissa plant, splitting it in half, and sending half to bbinj and half to pepper? Bbinj will send me a few rooted cuttings (tarragon, oregano, and spearmint) - pepper will send a check for postage.

(4paws, it sounds like you have the Monarda type. Sometimes it's called horsemint. It smells like beebalm with a bit of lemon zest when bruised.)
Hmmm...I'll have to get a photo-perhaps you'll confirm for me. :-)
Hi Carrie,
I've always planted oregano straight into the ground, it has a neater habit than peppermint or speamint. I have the peppermint, spearmint, chocolate mint, and KY Col mint still in the pots they came in (looks like 3 inch pots), and they are doing well-enough, and I have enough mint for me. I suppose I'll have to repot them at some time but I just planted them this summer so not yet. I'm rooting some oregano now.
Thanks, Carrie. It's the Melissa officinalis. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/292/index.html
Hang on, you guys DON'T want my Melissa officialis? I'm confused.
xxx, C
Carrie!! I do want your lemon mint!! Whatever it's called in Latin!! Do you want chocolate mint and Greek oregano, one, or both? I have both going now. Also French tarragon.
Pepper, I have spearmint, peppermint, peppermint-scented pelargonium, French tarragon, and Greek oregano for you.
If you don't want one of these, just tell me. If you want a sweet lavender, I can start that too. Or even just pull out a clump, it layers itself like crazy. Carrie, if you want sweet lavender too, let me know.
Pepper, the funny thing is I'm trading for some pots to keep trading plants. I mean, to have more pots to put the rooted cuttings in, especially of my bigger plants like hydrangeas.
Bbinnj,
I do NOT want chocolate mint, unless it will ease my teenage daughter's "cravings". I DO want oregano, spearmint and tarragon, please. Although lavendar has not done well for me in the past, I'd love to try it again! I probably can't ship until Tuesday - no, I'll be away then, Hmmmm. Ok, I'll do it today.
xxx, Carrie
Hi Carrie,
You'll have oregano, tarragon, and spearmint shipping sometime next week. If you'll be away, when should I ship?
Pepper,
Please advise about the herbs I have for you, they can ship next week.
Beverly
Well, I didn't do it today. Please ship the last half of next week, I guess. We only are going to be gone until Thursday, probably.
xxxxxx, Carrie
