I recently saw a hanging basket of this at a friends. What a beautiful plant!! Obviously I can't grow it here in my zone but would I be able to have it as an indoor plant?

I don't think they bloom too well indoors, could be wrong though. They're also kind of messy because the flowers tend to drop to the ground when they're done. You could try keeping it outside but then bring it in for the winter--I think they go sort of dormant so you could probably do that, or else treat them as annuals and buy a new basket the next year!
Overwinter indoors...it blooms on new growth. I gave mine a "haircut" and it's awesome again!
