I know that CeeJay will tell me to use high pressure water to take care of this problem but I have tried that and am not happy w/ the results.
What do any of you recommend, besides the water, to get rid of spider mites? Never had them before and this year oh my gosh they are all over my brugs and daturas and moving onto my allamanda! I have used Bayer Tree and Shrub, Bayer Rose and Shrub (or whatever that one is called) have also used a granular product by Fertilome, forget the name, comes in a small bottle and is off white small granules, the bottle is cheap to buy maybe 4 or 5 bucks & spider mites are listed on the bottle, have also used malathion and lest you forget, I have tried the high pressure water and beside blowing holes in leaves, blowing leaves off plants it hasn't done much.
Any help would be appreciated.
Oh and another problem I need help w/ SPIDER MITES!
Hey April,
I usually lurk on this board and do not post, but hopefully this will help. You can look through the library for info regarding his specific recommendations. Good luck.

WOW David thanks!
David, I don't have spider mites, but thank you for sharing that link,
that was excellent advise.
Josephine.
Yes and why do you lurk? You clearly have good stuff to share! Thanks again.
some people just lurk. and sneak. sometimes they laugh.
you laughing at us, david? hmmm????
Are you suggesting that someone is looking over our shoulder and laughing at my bumbling and naivety?
Stop that laughing!
I think so! Oh, NO! You mean... this isn't PRIVATE?!?!?!
LOL! well maybe that feeling that I am being watched is not in my head after all!
You ARE wearing your aluminum foil hat, aren't you?
Who told you about my hat? Did they tell you I had that hat?!
I receive... information... from... many sources...
LOL you are way to funny...but you have me looking over my shoulder!
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you.
Well, April - YOU'RE RIGHT! Water those suckers. You don't have to use a high pressure - just a spray - up, under the leaves where they live. About five days apart (or less, if you have the time) and after doing this a few times, you will notice a significant difference. Another thing that is contributing to your problem is all the pesticides (and you know I'm not against the well-placed pesticide).... Seriously, they kill off the beneficials that control the beasties, and the spider mites have their way.
Ceejay I was hoping you wouldn't see this thread! LOL I knew what you would say- but thought I had to use high pressure! DUH. I have nothing but time so think I will do a bit of both- spraying off can't hurt and seaweed spray can't hurt either- both are environmentally friendly- I knew someone was going to tell me to lay off all the pesticide!
CeeJay several days ago maybe more, you know how poor my short term memory is, you commented on a picture someone had posted of what they thought was a pest and you suggested it looked like lady bug larva- Just so you know I have tons of them on my white bauhinia and man those suckers can move! Everytime I see them I am thinking of you.
Hey all,
If I am laughing when reading this board, it is with you and not at you, I swear.
I appreciate the friendliness here. I mainly hang out on the cactus and succulent board, and am trying to incorporate them into my landscaping, with the rest being TX natives. I do do some adapted plants as well.
I'll show myself a little more often, if I have something to add.
Thanks,
David
You know David, if I were as paranoid as Brigidlily I'd think you had something to hide! LOL.
I for one appreciate your input so any time you want add something don't hesitate! Thanks again for the link it was good information.
