This hive is in the midlle of a small cypress bog. The tree it's in is on a little strand between the two streams that flow through during our wet season. It's only accessible during our driest times.
I've only seen this hive 3 times. These pictures were taken the first time. The next time it was cold and the hive was blackened slightly and looked dead. Thankfully the last time the hive was fully functional and healthy looking again.
The land the bog is on is for sale. If/When it looks like it is sold I'll see I can find a beekeeper to come and rescue the bees.
