I'm working in a garden away from home and don't have any materials w/me. It's very invasive, smallish leaves w/black pattern on them and tiny pink (3/8" or so) domed flowers, that for lack of a better description remind me of those gumdrop candies w/the tiny dots on them.
The name escapes me - a senior moment I guess-no offense intended.
TIA Janet
Quickly - name that invasive gd. cover??
Thanks but no thanks, figured it out.
What is it? Now I'm curiuos. :-)
Me too!
Pink Knotweed Polygonum capitatum

I pulled out every speck of it that I could find just a couple of months ago and you ought to see my beds again. It's as thick 'as hair on a dog's back' AGAIN! It has choked out my lamb's ears, Corsican mint, sedums, Snow in Summer, etc. I had someone in the garden that wanted just such a plant to choke out the weeds in a long flower bed and I couldn't for the life of me remember the name at the time. (I'm trying to forget it!) I gave him generous warning about it, but I guess '1 man (or woman's) weed, is another's flower' or something like that.
It's pretty, but I'll have none of it!
I'll be happy to send you mine Billyporter...LOL
Sorry, I'll have to tell the post office I don't live here anymore, LOL!
I absolutely HATE that stuff, and haven't been able to get rid of it either. And they actually sell flats of it as ground cover at our local nursery. Jeesh!
Ditto here, in all the nurseries. It does have it's place, just not in my yard. I never planted the stuff, but it seeds prolifically and the wind blew it into my yard from the neighbors, or it floated in on all the rain this last spring. LOL
edited to correct spelling
