Decisions

Brownfield, ME(Zone 4b)

Went to look at a stb gelding this morning that is for sale and the racing owner is trying to sell him to a pleasure home {to slow for the track}. He has had him up for sale since May and is getting anxious to sell him. He was listed as a 10 yr old grey ,when I got there he looked 20 and is underweight huge ankles and looked like he needs help. One of our SPHO {STB pleasure horse Organization} has been working him she has 3 young children and they were all around in fact the 5yr old was cleaning his feet. He is so patient /loveable. I did ride him he is pokey but I did get him to trot in fact a nice trot . I am not sure. IF I take him ,he would be a good horse for my husband. I have 3 stalls one is for my daughter's aged appy mare that we will keep forever. Von ,the problem is my daughter will be needing a new horse soon. She is riding her instructors TB doing dressage and will be doing some shows in the fall. I want to be sure that is what she wants to do before committing to a horse. If yes it is a go for another horse it will be the 4th where do I put it? should I go with my heart now and put in an offer on the grey which by the way a roan another thing which I now is so stupid he is only 10 the last horse I had lived till 28 am I going to be able to take care of a horse when I'm 71? Thanks for letting me ramble on. I'll talk to my husband tonight and see what he thinks. When I told him I was going to look he asked if I was taking the trailor, that's a good sign. His racing name is Golfers Boy they call him Divit.
