ponds are realllllllllllllllly low
drought
Most ponds around here are nonexistent. A coworker of my has a pond in front and he had to dig it out for his cattle and it is now empty. We do get a few rains here and there but it either rains really hard or just rains for a few minutes. Either way the ground does not absorb it. We need a solid 2 weeks of drizzling rain for the ponds to get a little water.
That's truly sad. We're having the annual summer monsoons here: thunderstorms possible every day, and at least a few times a week it rains for several hours. Wish I could send some your way: it's actually a bit much for some of my new plantings!
We have had to dig water wells and pump them into the ponds to use for irrigation.....large oak trees have shed their leaves and are in the stress process. when they start that and if there is no relief to save them in about two years they are completely dead......we live on heavily oak wooded acreage, with natural tall grass prairie meadows..yes .drizzle slow rains are what we need, we havent even had the down pours or thunderstorms in the past 2 years........and I live in what is known as tornado alley in Oklahoma
