But left-over coffee is not all that good! I think we should pop up at sunrise and brew a fresh cup and sit out on the porch and visit. Wake me later and tell me what happened. lol
I can sit out on the porch, with or without coffee, sunrise or sunset, alone or with a gang. Dibs on the porch swing....
That is just an empty cup, gals...didn't you know that???!! :) I always make it fresh for guests in the AM....or you can make it tomorrow....
I have a porch swing on the front porch. See you there in a few hours!
Really? My grandmother had one...and my mom has one..... I can't wait to get one when the yard is done....DH said "NO more buying anything until the yard is done!!" ...so I have to wait patiently. *sigh*
I am on my second cup of coffee....anyone up, or did you guys stay up late and sleeping in????
Hi Sheila, I have put away the 2nd cuppa too. Got lunches packed, dustmopped the floors and got waylaid by the updated threads. Is there any chance of rain at your house?
Nada, it is all moved to the East. We ran the sprinkler last night, didn't see any chance of it.
Lunches for the kiddos I guess?

Sorry for no rain. I know how frustrating that can be... We had an inch when we got home from work yesterday. Don't know how much more overnight. But I am grateful. The lunches are for us big kids. We don't slip off, but grab a bite right at work. Don't mind my own cooking. It's comfortable after all these years. I normally walk every morning but may be too soggy today.
Being a morning person, I noticed how about the time I get wound down, all the DG conversations get going good. Guess I'm backwards... ;)))
Okay...I'm finally up. Trying to get the fingers moving...anyone else have arthritis in the digits???? I hate growing old...whoever said something about "growing old gracefully"??? hahahah
I'm up, grandbaby's bathed, fed and down for a nap. Pictures of first bloom (finally) on brug Miss Anna taken. All blown over plants from rain and wind yesterday uprighted. One plumeria is looking a little worse for wear as it got blown over 3 times before I finally went out in the rain yesterday and moved that big a**ed pot to a more protected area. We got so much rain on the west side of town (Houston) that the news said that Beltway 8 at I 10 had 10 feet of water and cars were totally submerged under it. Of course, that's not really that unusual for that location as it floods every time it sprinkles practically. Garden looks well watered though!
I'm up too. Second cup of java going down. Slept later than usual this morning. It was very cloudy until a few minutes ago. Looks like the sun is going to shine today. Still no rain to speak of here. 1/10th isn't much. It's very sticky humid this morning. Making my arthritis act up. :(

I had good intentions but did not arise until 8:30. Now I have had two cups of coffee and am starting on the diet Coke. Maybe I'll come alive! I'm headed out to turn on water, and then it's going to be floor cleaning time before the weeds start sprouting inside. Ya'll have a great day!

Nope you aren't the last one sticks--I even slept through all the rain yesterday morning.
Connie and Dancey you're not the only one with arthritis--I have RA. Both thumbs are really bad and had a total hip replacement Dec 2004.
Pat, I hear you about the caffeine. I hate coffee but I swear it takes about 2 liters of either raspberry tea or mountain dew to finally wake up.

scool.....after 5 days of being delerious...not enjoying my yard...not enjoying gardenign..not enjoying my dogs...life...; i was not remembering stuff...i finally said this is for the birds....so i came back to my normal schedule waking up at 9.....amazing what 3 extra hours of sleep does?....feeling much better and almost back to myself....
There ya go. If it ain't broke.....don't fix it!
Well I had a productive day at work, but sure glad when 5pm got there. When the DH got home he took a picture of my backyard Texas Star Hibiscus. It is it's first bloom this year. ....Yeah I know Debbie, you and other's have had blooms for a long time. LOL! My Star in the front bed has bloomed, but a lot smaller blooms.
I'm already up and going this morning. Woke up at 4:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. Got my second cup of coffee and thinking about what all I want to do outside today. Dh and I need to mow the lawn this weekend. We did get a nice little rain shower yesterday. With all the rain around us we've gotten less than one inch in all. sigh After I water the gardens this morning I plan to fertilize. Give them a little boost before we go into hot August weather.
