So I've got a question.....

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

Why are there no AV's in yellow or true red? Or are there and I am just missing them?

Thanks!

Hi,

I have a noid that is a very pale yellow and yes there are yellow violets....in FC2 it lists 92 violets that are yellow or have yellow on the blossom. There is 1961 reds listed as well.

Hope this helps a bit.

I like the yellows but look closely, some are more white than yellow. some are any color but yellow w/ just a dot of yellow. They are lovely though.

It was the reds that got me interested in AVs most recently, well that and the variegation. Reds that I love are Pow Wow, Powder Keg and all the rest. LOL.

Bob Serbin. Fell in love with that Red AV. Powder Keg is another gorgeous one. I'd love to have a yellow one too, some day. sigh...so many beautiful African Violets, and so little space left...

I have had some really great reds !
And a few yellows . I do not find either stable.
The Golden Spirit I grew several I really liked bloomed a nice yellow stripe I sent my last blooming size one to Anitia and sent a baby off in a leaf box the other day.
I've had some Senk's yellow's and I don't feel his are anymore stable yellow than the others.

I've been hearing that some of the new yellows are more yellow and more stable, but who knows?
