can we do this in texas?

Boerne new zone 30, TX(Zone 8b)

I just saw this pic on another thread

I just LOVE how it looks and would like to do a section of my garden this way.

Ideas?

Thoughts?

I am with you, that looks really cool! You probably could not use all of those plants, but you could certainly do a interesting succulent garden. Check out the selection at this Yucca Do link.... http://www.yuccado.com/displayengine//where%20ygroup=%27Succulents%27////Succulents I love the Graptoveria 'Vera Higgins'

I have been wanting to collect succulents to put in a strawberry pot like this http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=1464180 , but that link looks really cool too.

Oh, I love both of those. Thanks for posting the pics. I've never seen anything like that Californian one, I would never have imagined that you could get that look with succulents. I've been trying to decide what to put in a huge pot by my front entry and I think y'all have got me settled on succulents. They would be perfect for the full sun space and since it's in a location that's a pain to water, they'll really work well and I can just hand water that one pot. Don't ya' just love the Texas forum!

I hadn't either and I have a empty space that is sorta egg shaped at the bottom of one of my rock walls (will post a pic after I take one). I'm thinking something like this would be perfect... Now I just have to figure out the plants and learn more about succulents.
