Why did I have to scroll down so far to find this forum?? What is wrong with you all that we let it get that far down? I think I am going to go back to bed or something. I am really tired. I don't sleep well and I don't know why.

Well They just came and took a bunch of blood from me. Yuk. I've never had a probelm before. BUT she could not get any blood out she was killing me. THEn she put a needle in like you turn your arm around about 2 inches from your wrist. She was digging thought she was going to kill me, and when she took it out I nearly fainted then too. Still hurts. But Precious was next to me So I did not scream and scare her and my cousin was here. Yikes though never had this much pain giving blood :((
I have a hard time staying awak very frustrating I hate it when I can't hold my eye lids open.
God willing I will be doing some packaging .
Everyone waiting on boxes from me Please be patient I am packaging each and everyday, Sunday - Wed. shipping up to Thursday. But I have about 2 dozen boxes to go out so everyone must wait their turn I am going as fast as I can.

Morning Allison,

Oh my goodness...I have had that happen too...it is what you call lack of skills on the person giving the needle. Oh you poor thing.

I think everyone is suffering from PostBingoDepression. When the game is running I am sure it was the first thing on everyone's mind each morning; gave you a reason to "jump to the forum". I miss it. So much fun.

Don't despair, August is just around the corner and another game will begin.

It's been quite a while since I've been able to visit...way too busy with school. I just got done transplanting all of my babies into little pots. I'm hoping I wasn't too eager and didn't pot them up too early. Seeing all of the babies got me excited and I had to stop by the forum and see what everyone had pictures of. Can't wait to start having time to play again! Next Thursday I'm completely done with school and I'm sure my av's will end up with lots of new friends in my free time. :)
It's nice seeing so many familiar names after being away for a while. It's good to see that someone near by is posting. Makshi, we need an av club for the area, although I can't imagine something to encourage to my addiction. :)

Allison,

That sounds just awful. Were they taking blood for blood gases? If they were I know that can be very painful. I have had it done several times and depending on the person taking it depends on how much it hurts. I hope this day is going better for you.

Hello everyone else and I hope you all are having a decent day. I am feeling a little tired right now. I hate having to lay down in the middle of the day like I have been having to do lately. It just ruins my mood for getting anything done and puts me even more behind.

Sounds like they went for arterial blood rather than venous- if they weren't going for blood gases they really shouldn't have done it but on the other hand I have been in home settings in years past where I couldn't get venous blood and it was arterial w/ MD's permission or the patient would have to go into the ER via amublance. It is awful to do that to someone, Allison you must feel like a pincushion! Hope you are feeling better by now and how kind of you not to scare darling little precious!

I have had several blood gases before. Most in bed before I wok or got up best time to take them for ALS patients.
But this was just reg. blood work. She tried it in a vein and got one drop I could feel her digging for blood but she got none. The way my bed is set up in this small room impossible except if she moved furniture to do my other arm which did not look much better. So she did the inside wrist. About two inches down from any blood gases I've ever had.
She said oh no I'm not doing that test I don't do them. Well I have had them with small needle and good people and never felt a thing.
This lady was kiling me. And when she took it out she killed me again. Took along time. I told her hope she got some blood.
I'll tell ya what I've never had this problem I don't think she knew what she was doing.
I did not scream or cry I just held precious and burried my head away from the needle into Precious face and prayed for it to end soon.

I am so sorry you had to go through such an ordeal, Allison. We all feel for you.

Allison sometimes even the best of them have bad days. Sorry it had to be at your expense. Most of the time when they draw blood on me it's nothing, sometimes I think that if I took a rusty old kitchen knife it would be faster and hurt less.

Glad you had Precious w/ you.

I've had that done to me too.I was in for elective surgery, getting my blood work up and all done.It was like she was drilling for oil....both arms.I have deep veins.

When I first started going to the dr. I use now,he needed to take a blood sample I said to him"Ok,Doc...it's like this. You hurt me...I hurt you!"Luckily he had a sense of humor and didn't take me seriously . I was still doing body building and power lifting so I was way bigger than him....he's veitnamese and small so he might have taken that into consideration...bawhahaha!

P

I've got way too big of a mouth to lurk! LOL Dentists, doctors, and painting have kept me away. One day soon we should be finished with all we've got going at the moment and I'll be around more. **She says with much hope in her heart.** LOL

Allison, I am so sorry you had to go through such awful torture getting your blood drawn. Them digging around for a vein is one of the most painful things to have to endure. Thanks to God for blessing you with Precious to help you through these difficult times. I know she's s furry little angel sent straight to you from Heaven. :o) Hopefully next time they'll send someone with more experience to draw your blood. It's an art, and not everyone can do it well. Big hugs to you!

Did we ever figure out who's doing what in August for bingo? I missed Don's "postbingo depression" post above the first time I read through. :o)
