this is my first chirita and it was made from a leaf from lorry put down around 3-9-06. i just seperated from the mom leaf because mom was dying. i love this one! i don't have any small pots so its in a 4 inch pot right now until i get some smaller ones. i can't find any really small pots around here. how long do blooms take to get?

What a beautiful little plant! I have a precious little one that Allison sent me... love the foliage!!
Kelly, I've had trouble finding small pots around here too... but I'm using a lot of plastic cups! I found some 5 oz ones this winter that work well for plants that are around the right size for a 3 inch pot (cups are 2 inches wide, but a little deeper than pots), and CVS carries some 3 oz cups ($2 for 100) that have been working really well for miniatures and for smaller plantlets of standards. I heat a kebab skewer on the stove and poke a hole or two in the bottom... I can do a stack of about 20 all at once that way, but be sure to tweak them a little right away in case they try to weld themselves together.
thanks so much for the information. i will try that! that would sure work : )

Kelly cute plant ! Nice growing. Chiritas do like small tight spaces, on the cooler side and dry.
Like Jill mentioned a cup would do great. A 3 inch solo cup would be great for it.
MY Chirita sinensis 'Hisako' is about 20 inches , one leaf is longer than my hand and arm. lol and it's just in a 5 inch azeala pot !
I fount the grow fast , like all plants have to be a good mature size before blooming I would say.
Here is my plant on the front right when it was small in bloom. but it had a good root system as I had take half a dozen or so leaves off to grow babies.
Oh that is a very pretty plant! I also love the foliage! Looks really healthy!
TFS!
