Shelly221,
That is a beautiful butterfly picture, but it is not the Blue Morpho, which looks like this with its wings closed: http://www.westford.com/fingerhut/Butterflies/Blue-Morpho-1.jpg
It is one of the Owl Butterflies in the genus Caligo, possibly the same as this: Caligo idomeneus: http://davesgarden.com/bf/showimage/125/

Thank you Ken. This was a beautiful blue inside, so I assumed it was a Morpho. This did not pop up on my watched list even tho it is marked as watched LOL. Sorry it took so long for me to get fixed.

Shelly,
As you can see from this site: http://www.nic.funet.fi/index/Tree_of_life/insecta/lepidoptera/ditrysia/papilionoidea/nymphalidae/morphinae/caligo/idomeneus.jpg
the owls also have brilliant blue upper wings (at least in the males).
I will now move your image across to the Caligo idomeneus entry

Thank you so much! LOL I never knew this one would be so difficult.

Sorry about the strange heading to this thread now. I accidentally moved it to a Robber Fly and then immediately corrected it and sent it to the right place. This thread is now named for the intermediate site LOL
