Stopped by a greenhouse going outta business on the way home today. They had a bunch of these Red Sensation spikes (dracaenas) in 6 in pots, 20 " +for $1.50 each.so I went crazy and got some to grow on for next years displays outdoors.these things normally retail for about $10 this size.

No such luck around these parts.
Great form and colour.

Good find.

Basically the same as regular green spike plants sold in the spring.Just that this cultivar gets really red and smokey looking as it grows.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Do you ever play the lottery, Kyle? LOL

I can't believe all the nurseries you have there in Iowa.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Now I know why I can't find cool plants around here; they are apparently shipping them all to Iowa.

Then, they are lowering the prices too !!!!! Good grief !

Fayetteville, PA(Zone 6b)

Nice Cordyline australis 'Red Sensation' (Dracaena spikes is an old, outdated name for C. australis).... If I could find some around here, I'd add them to my experimental garden as well as the 6 normal C. australis I have......

You also might want to try some C. australis outdoors where you live... There are some folks in Colorado Springs, Co in the same zone as you who have been growing some outside for about 6 years now.....
