Attracting bats to your property

I saw something earlier tonight that [sadly] I hardly ever see: a bat. It accompanied me tonight as I was walking around my property. It was swooping here and there and I so enjoyed his company. He kept the mosquitoes at bay- lol!

This got me to thinking how I could attract more of these little insect goblins to my yard.
Anyone have habititats for bats or are trying to make your yards more bat-friendly?

We've seen one or two bats on the property since moving in last year. We hung two bat houses a couple months ago: no occupants yet, but we remain hopeful! Bats yes, mosquitos no!

Just found this link. Thanks. It's really interesting. Bats are fairly common here.

I love bats! I had them in the house, so I know they're out there. Equil gave me plans for bat houses and I'm waiting for my dad to help me. I think it's a good father daughter project!

i would love to have come had one 1 1/2or 2 yrs yr ago fell out its nest had baby hooked to him no one was interested i watched protected him form her i mean from dogs later she kid kids gone..

What a sweetheart you were for protecting the Momma and her baby. Most people are afraid of them.
