Shredded Inca Sun

Cool! I've always wanted a shredded mutation of my very own lol!
This plant never had even a freckles worth of Messenger on it.

Once I bought some chicken soup out of a machine at work. I think they just had some hot water and made the chicken run through real fast. Maybe you just walked close by with the messenger.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Jim how dare you! My beautiful little flower is offended that you insinuate he looks like a shredded chicken .... rofl!

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

LOL me too.

St. Paul, MN(Zone 4b)

Wow, that's a...well....ummm.....interesting flower!

Erick

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

It's ok Mr. Erick to say the flower is ugly and his momma dresses him funny. lol!

Huntsville, AL(Zone 7a)

Well okay Vicki, you can dress him up.. but can ya take him anywhere??

;)

Barb

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Like all good moms I dress him and take him everywhere. But it hurts to hear the words "He has his mommie's birdy legs". :(

Huntsville, AL(Zone 7a)

LOLOL!!!!

Huntsville, AL(Zone 7a)

Now on the serious side... what causes a normally "intact" bloom to form like this? Is it a random mutation or possibly the nefarious actions of some critter? Just wondering.....

Barb

I personally believe it's a genetics thing. Definitely not critter related.

Geneva, FL(Zone 9b)

I have the shredded white. Yours is nice! Is that the only flower doing this?

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Yes it is the only flower. We've seen (the USA brug world) alot of these shredded mutations in the last year with all kinds of different brugs.
There's also mutations in the number of points you see in flowers. Normally there is 5 points.

This is a 4 pointer

What a large hand to go with the birdy legs. LOL

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Some growers have had as many as 12 points.
Shredded White sometimes puts out solid flowers
Some suaveolens occasionally give birth to a double flower

So many interesting and wierd things can happen with brugs :)

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

The better to slap you with ... hee! And then I pin you to the ground with a birdy leg!

Tyler, TX(Zone 8a)

Vee, I like them. Does the brug always have blooms like that or is that just one time.
Don't let them make fun of you little new born she may turn in to a swan Then you will have the last laugh. Joan

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

ummmm .......... shredded yard bird (chicken) fajitas

heeeeeeeeeeeee

I love the little surprises we get from Mother Nature.
On the brugmansia relatives here ,
you should see the freak show 7 or 8 point tomato growing in my 'mater patch.
I don't want to take a chance on breaking her off the vine to get a better look until she has finished growing.

Can't take a pikchur right now anyway, it is pouring (again).
Rolled lil old scooter out of the barn to let the rain help soak some of the road grime and bugs loose before she gets her weekly bath ;-)

Joan it's a mutation. All of those pictures are just freaky things that happen to a flower once in awhile. :) Kinda like human deformities.

How does such a little Scooterbug handle that big ol' scooter? That's a whopper! You obviously must not have birdy arms and legs lol! Great picture!

I wonder how big your 7-8 point mater will get? Does it look like it will be huge?

Jeffersonville, IN(Zone 6b)

Alright, Shirley! I am soooo envious!!! My ex had a Harley Softail Springer that I actually got to ride by myself once in a while. I did have a Honda 450 of my own, but, he stole it. Anyhoo....

Vicki, that's pretty bizarre, but pretty. It is interesting to see some of nature's "quirks" sometimes!

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Vee, I peeked under the leaves this morning and it is doing well .
Here's hoping there is not a big green 'cat burrowing in from underneath ............ arrrrggghhhhh !

pic was taken in the beautiful hills of TN ;-)
Signal Hill I think.

( lil scooterbug ........... lolololol *snort*)

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Hopefully you won't find that cat after you bite into that mater ... :) but they say cats are full of iron and protein. You need plenty of them to handle that whopper bike. ... holey moley!

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Don't worry punkin,

ol' Thunderpony carries me .

Just like riding a bicycle .............. ;-)

If you don't tip over yer fine ........... if'n ya do,

wait for the next good lookin guy to come along and help ya pick it up ... heeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

hmmmmm so that's how you do it huh? I wonder if a 10 speed with training wheels would work? Help! I dropped my bike! Will you come to my rescue Mister? :)
