Veronica "Speedwell"?

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I was at Lowe's today because the nice balsam plants directly behind the "Yard of the Month" sign decided that July was MUCH too much and died pathetically. Figures. LOL So I need some replacements.

I saw some really pretty looking Veronica "Speedwells" (http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/844/index.html) ... The "speed" part of "Speedwell" scared me a little, though. Are they a good plant for Houston, or will I be regretting it for the next 87 years?

Marylyn, I have sunny border blue Veronica, love the blue flowers. I've had it about 3 years. It's in a bed that stays a little dry, the sprinkler can't reach it.

Burleson, TX(Zone 8a)

Buy it, you'll like it. I've got one and it hasn't spread at all, unfortunately. It has beautiful purple blooms.

Midway, TX(Zone 8b)

I have the Sunny Border Blue Speedwell too and I love the pretty blue color. Mine is just now beginning to spread and I'm glad. It's a very neat looking plant. I plan to get some white for next spring. Mine only requires a good watering when it's real dry.

Excellent. It's pretty AND doesn't need pampering. It sounds like my kind of plant! LOL Thanks, everyone!
