Look whos got JL pink pansy for sale again. I emailed the high bidder and let them know not to go any higher and that they most likely will not get what they think they're buying. I also emailed the idiot who has it for sale and told him i'm still awaiting my replacement that he promised.

LOL------- This seller has some 'cajones' as the Spanish saying goes. LOL I'm surprised he is still on Ebay.

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Stick by what I said months ago...AVOID this seller at all costs!!! I canceled an auction I'd won...ONLY time I've ever done that! You can't even get responses to emails with that one...it's beyond frustrating!!!

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

He / she is a low life pond scum sucking poriah on society.
A good beating is in order....

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

There you go, Michael...my thoughts exactly!!!

Davie, FL(Zone 10b)

Anyone got his email addy?

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

No email addy but I did manage to get HER real name and phone number through ebay. Names Michelle cant give the number, might get in trouble with ebay if they found out but I plan on calling her at the top of every hour every day until she either refunds my money or sends me a new plant.

Some poor sucker is about ot own another fake JLPP within just a few hours. Hope they dont get disappointed when it blooms!!

But i thought you email the person as you said in your first post?

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

I think this person uses several different names and identities from what I have heard. The name and/or phone number may be a fake one. It would not surprise me if none of the information given by Mantisbee is true and/or accurate.

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Would be nice to have a running list of ALL the names she uses.

Geneva, FL(Zone 9b)

I thought he was a guy named Anthony??? His nasty reponse to my asking why they were using other peoples' pics and altering the color in them sounded like an angry dude.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.............oh, the mystery.....

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Brad,
I agree...his feedback rebuttles (sp?) always sounded male to me...but never can tell.

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

I emailed him/her through ebay the first time letting him/her know about my problem with JLPP. The response came from someone supposedly named Anthony. I recall now having to also email this person back when I originally won teh auction to ask when the plant would be shipped as it took quite some time for me to get it.

I dont remember though if it was a male or female who responded. The contact info that ebay has on file is for a female named Michelle Thompson.

I only know this because I was foolish enough to bid $1 on an item that someone was already bidding on,knowing that i wouldnt win it but could still get access to his/her personal info simply because I bid on the item.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

I bet the Michelle Thompson is a fake name. It sounds like it could be made up. I remember a guy named "Anthony" was the one who had responded to several emails from Maui Plumeria Garden members when he posted an altered picture on eBay. I remember that he has a very bad temper and was quite rude. I would steer clear of him at all costs.

Mentally deranged is a good description
Vulgar, profane, obscene... not a take home to mama guy.
He needs a whak in the head with a broom handle..
Yes, ill do it, gladly and with pleasure.

That should do it!! :P

Here is an awesome site and Mantisbees negative feedbacks
There seems to be a theme here...'THIEF'

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Wow, Michael...great link!!! The fact that he's leaving negative feedback for buyers when they leave it for him...speaks volumes!! The ONLY negative feedback I've ever rec'd came from someone who'd I tried repeatedly to get a hold of and wouldn't respond...then lied in his feedback. I don't like that part of Ebays feedback!!

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

He /she never left me feedback for the fake JLPP even though at the time I left them positive feedback. I went back into this persons profile last night and couldnt beleive the number of very recent neutral or negatives that they've received. And many saying that they have complained to ebay about this person and nothing is being done about the bad business.

My ebay feedback is 100%. I did manage to get one attempt at smearing me by a person from whom I bought a piece of glass. Upon a rrival the glass was smashed inside the box for which my mail carrier can be witness for.

The glass was originally a 2 piece covered turkey box. LIke the old fashioned chickens on a nest. Before I ever opened it I knew it was broken.

The piece came packed in it's original Fenton box which was then packed inside oneof the larger priority mail boxes with more thtan enough packing between the two. the only provlem being this idiot who sold me the glass put 2 loose pices of glass inside the smaller box with zero packing.

Something that I think was done onp urpose. I never read anyones feedback prior to purchasing something from them but after that experience I do now.

Tuens out the seller of the glass is like Mantisbee a conartis who purposely packs her glass knowing that it'll be broken in transit. I had to beg, plea and fight to get my insurance slip from her. I also requested that she leave me positive feedback as I had paid for the item immediately upon the auctions end.

She did end up leaving me positive and this was before I knew it wa broken. Once I found out it was broken I left her neutral feedback. Not even negativre and she immediately went back yo my feedback page and post lies saying that I was very nasty to her which I never was, turens out she also did this to everyone else who had anything neutral or negative to say about her. Each time she did her dirt would be after the fact that she had already left the person postive feedback.

I alsao complained to the post office about this one because in my opinion if you are charging someone for postal insurance and knowingly shipping broken goods well then I think that might be considered mail fraud. A federal crime. After I posted neutral for he she then sentm e nasty emails saying that if any of the postal forms required her signiature to just forget it because she didnt care if I got one cecnt of my money back.

As it turned out I didnt need her signiature and got all but $2 of my money back but she was investigated by the PO and I did get a letter from them but since I was third party in this they coulndt inform me of anything they found out. I did check up on the seller a few times and noticed that she isnt selling glass anymore.

Ebay should dosomething about peoplel ike mantisbee whent hey continuosly get complaints. I kow they cant read every single feedback posted but they should have some sort of system that lets them konw when a person reaches a certain number of negs or neuts and ban that person from selling on ebay anymore.

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

I have been through it with e-bay before as have a few friends of mine.
Botom line is they dont care....much.
Although upon accusation of schill bidding a friend of mine was shut down.
The charge was bogus and from soneone who'd been harrassing her.
They made her wait 6 weeks to reopen her store.
She doesnt do this as a hobby but as a form of sustinence
She was very hurt financially.
E-bay is fun and exciting but also very unreliable and somewhat dangerous if you dont have $$ to play with.

Chantell-
It's easy to figure out when sellers have other IDs if you just search for a distinct phrase in their listings, and then search in the category for that phrase in quotes. People who sell a lot don't take the time to make every listing distinct, particularly the red tape language. Once you get that far, you can usually find other similarities in the style, location, photos, that make clear that it's the same person. It's usually really obvious.

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

You can also look at the id history on the auction page.

Wait -I hadn't read the entire thread. If the phone number is fake just report them. They throw people off for that. You must have a legit phone number on file.

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Good points, Andi!!!

Michael - what does the term schill bidding mean?

Shill bidding, no c. It's where a seller or people he's conspiring with bid on the item in order to drive up your proxy bid. Since your proxy bid could be larger than the current displayed bid, the seller has an incentive to bid against you if they can drive up the price without overbidding you. It's forbidden on the site because of the proxy system. Also done by scammers who want to generate feedback for themselves so that they can start scamming people once they appear legit. The best way to avoid it is not to bid until the last seconds of the auction, and to know some of the other signs.

Ah....ok...now I get it, Andi! Thank you! As a rule I don't bid until very close to the end of an auction any way...matter a fact (bad me, I know)...I use esnipe if it's something I really want and/or if I'm not going to be near a computer at the end of the auction. I don't want to chance losing something b/c I've gotten distracted elsewhere when the auction is due to close.

Geneva, FL(Zone 9b)

From a seller's prespective: I had this creep who I had blocked under one name bid under another name. He knew the plant he was getting was a newly rooted cutting with small roots as the auction CLEARLY stated this. This was for Frangipaniheavenflorida. Anyway, my business partner mailed him the plant, not recognizing the address, which I did upon later inspection of the books. Anyway, they began sending me unsigned, threatening emails about my "terrible customer service and plants". I then contacted Ebay and reported them for using another name to bid when blocked and they got suspended from Ebay. Well, upon their reinstatement (another mystery), they were able to somehow get in and leave a 'Neutral", which I assume they weren't able to leave a negative for whatever reason?? I don't know, but, they lied and said I sent them a black-tipped plumeria--a Lie-- and that they had "bid with me before with no problems". Yeh, right. I now know who this person is and they seem to have a repuation with locals in their respective city as being disagreeable. Live and learn. My partner now knows whom to watch for and when to leave feedback. I hate to say it, but, I also practice feedback witholding with new cusotmers because my reputation is worth protecting from nasty morons with nothing better to do with their lives than spread bad karma everywhere.

I also had a lady leave me a neutral for "roots broken" when I also clearly stated that it was a newly rooted cuttings with small roots. I mean, I write this in my auctions so any idiot could undertand this when it comes to newly rooted cuttings. She later apologized when she discovered she had been blocked from bidding on my stuff and wanted to know why. I explained to her that leaving feedback other than positive with out even contacting a seller is rude and doesn't give the seller a chance to talk with you about the situation. She is now unblocked, but the neutral remains. It doesn't effect my score, but it doesn't look great, in my opinion, seeing them there. Oh, well......

As far as bad sellers leaving bad feedback for those that leave them negatives, that is truly nasty of them. When a negative is deserved then so be it and a seller shouldn;t retaliate in kind because they screwed up.

bumping for Mickey...

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Clare_CA, thanks for bumping this thread up. Although I haven't posted to this forum, I lurk. It's a good thing I did. I have been watching a "rare variegated" Clivia seed on eBay was going to bid on them. This guy is selling Clivias now! Thanks for the heads up. I'll look elsewhere.

I'm glad I could save you a headache and save you from possibly getting ripped off! You are smart to steer clear of him.
