alfalfa tea

Lumberton, TX(Zone 8b)

I got the recipe, but where do you get alfalfa pellets? HD? Feed store? Alfalfa R Us?

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

You might try contacting the Little Rascals! LOL! Seriously, I would check the feed stores, farm supplys.

Your friendly feed store or pet store.
Josephine.

Scoolie you are being very naughty aren't you! LOL I love your sense of humor.

Hi,

Would you post the recipe. I have heard of it but don't have the recipe. Is it so strong that it will burn the plants since it is so hot?
Everything in my yard looks like it is on its last leg. I guess if it all bites the dust I can start all over.

Didn't have time to hit a feed store, so I went to W/Mart and got "Alfalfa Chews" rabbit snacks. Threw them in a very large bucket (you know the kind, with the rope handles) and filled it with water and voila! This is really good stuff. Used it two days later in the rose garden, and this morning I have two David Austin "Charles Darwin" blooms sitting here in the office with me. I think the rain yesterday filled the bucket back up, so I'll be able to douse everything again in a day or two.

I love this site.

Wow that's cool to know- I don't get by feed stores often, it at all but I know that I can find rabbit snacks. Who'd have thunk it?

Desperate times call for desperate measures, aprilwillis! Probably a LOT pricier in the long run, though. I'm going to find a feed store and get the pellets before too long.

Do ya'll have a tractor supply co up there? The one up 290 has everything...lots of stuff you wonder why they have it--like clothes (why?)

There's one on my way to work, actually! Maybe I'll stop by... at least to embellish my wardrobe. ?!?!? ;p

I'll tell them suckers I want me some overhauls and some pellets to make me some tea.

I'd probably fit right in.

I know there is one close by here, will have to find it, I need some new clothes, LOL.

Boy howdy. Might need to go dancin'.

Missouri City, TX(Zone 9a)

Yeah buddy!

Actually they had decent winter cowboy hats there last year--the kind that bend real good. (e.g. Pitt--Legend of the Falls style).

Lumberton, TX(Zone 8b)

Maybe the reasoning is that, since you're going there to buy the hat, you might as well get your jeans and stuff? Maybe shy farmers don't like to go on into town to hit the mall. I don't.

Hey! I can call myself a farmer if I want to. My yard is HUGE -- to an ant.

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 8b)

I only drink green tea. lol

Fly you just haven't lived! LOL.

Thanks for the info. I will go to the feed store and get some next time I am in town. We feed alfalfa hay when we can get it and my dh did let me have a very tiny block of it to use as a mulch for a new passion vine. Maybe that is why it looks so healthy.
