computer crash

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

I need help! My computer yesterday morning greeted me with a blue screen of death. It something about an error that would harm my computer. I got the same screen a couple weeks ago, and if said "if this is the first time you've seen this screen, reboot your computer" I did that then and it worked fine. Yesterday, I read the message and it told me to reboot in safe mode, and remove any hardware or software that was recently installed. Well, there was nothing recently installed. I tried to reboot in safe mode, and it would bring me back to the blue screen of death every time. I went in and got it to boot from CD, and reinstalled windows. Aurgh! Lost everything. Now when I boot my computer, the first screen I see says that says Floppy Diskette Seek Failure. Strike F1 to continue, F2 to run set up utility.

I hit F1, and the next screen I get says please select operating system to run. The Windows XP is listed twice. If I click on the first one, it boots. If I click on the second one, I go back to the blue screen of death.

The computer seems very slow. Does anyone have any idea how to get it to boot normally? I am willing to try just about anything. I have unlimited Long Distance through Comcast, so I can call anyone that can help. I do know a little bit about computers.... probably just enough to make me dangerous LOL

The computer is a 2 year old Dell, Microsoft XP Home Edition Service Pack 2. It has a Pentium 4 3.2 GHz processor with 1 GB of Ram. It has an 80 gig hard drive.

Thanks so much
Janis
