I thought I was going to miss them all blooming when we went on vacation earlier this month, but most of them held on long enough to take some great pictures!!

These are my first glads!
The first one has a very full spike, they mostly start to die at the bottom before the top ones open. Do yo know the name?
Great shot, I like the shadow you got with it.
Alas, these were some of the first bulbs that I bought this season before I was a DG Member and was told I should write down the name of everything! I haven't searched for pictures yet but I am sure they are very common. I am hoping the same place will have them for sale next year so I will know for sure what they are!
I am a beginner gardener and photographer, but I did think the shadows turned out nicely - thanks!
After looking in the PlantFiles I am pretty sure these are "Priscilla". Looks very similar, anyway!
It's difficult to tell, yours looks more yellow in the centre. If the name sounds familiar you are probably right.
I don't write down the names either, but I do remember them. Every time you look at a new plant if you think of the name you will commit it to memory. When you get so many names in your head there comes a point where the ones you haven't thought of for a while get temporarily lost, but they return! Start training that brain!
Everything I have bought since then I can remember but still have it written down, just in case. I have planted and ordered 40+ daylilies this year and 14 rose bushes plus a bundle of misc, my brain is definitely not trained to that magnitude yet!!
Well yes, it is a good idea, but it will come! Do you have the simple plastic labels you can write on with indelible pen, they can be pushed in at the side and buried, you just have to find them again! Bearing in mind a plants spread.
That is a great idea! Luckily my garden is still quite small so it won't take too long to backlog!
Don't you just love glads? They look really nice in a vase.
Yes - they are one of my new favorites. Althought next year I will stake them so they stay straight longer!
My DH loves to come in the house and see what's been blooming today, and one of his favs is Glads, because there are so many different colors! I'm with you, I will plant many more next year but I, too, will stake them.
