Positive id's and picture donations needed!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Please see this link. We need every bug critter possible. Good bugs and bad bugs.

Also does anyone have a nice clear picture of Carolina sphinx (Manduca sexta [Linnaeus]) they can donate? I've got plenty of pics of the Tobacco hornworm but my pictures of the adult moth are lousy. If you can donate moth pics it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for any help you can give.

Hint, hint....there are very few butterfly-related entries in Garden Terms: http://davesgarden.com/terms/search.php?search_text=butterfly&Search=Search+Garden+Terms

That means there's ample opportunity for anyone who would like to contribute photos and information.

Also, to make it easier to find the existing entries for insects, here are shortcuts to what I found already listed in Garden Terms:

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Vicki I have lots of bug, butterfly, and moth pics. Just have to find them on disk lol

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Yes Donna! I was hoping you would donate some of your wonderful pics and info. Thank you girl! :)

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Vicki do I post full size or reduced size pics?? Will start work on it tonight possibly, well after Monk and House go off lol

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm not vicki, but generally speaking, full size (640x480 pixels) work best. Don't try to post the thumbnails - our system will create the thumbnail version when you upload (Garden Terms works just like the forums and PlantFiles when it comes to image uploads.)

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

thanks Terry I was wondering because my full size is like 1200x2400. Something huge like that

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

The system will resize anything larger than 1000 x 800 pixels (down to 1000 x 800 pixels), but that's still a big photo for most user's screens.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

oh how I know. We just got DSL available here at the new house. It was so hard having dial-up again after years of having DSL

(Zone 8b)

I have put in one or two butterflies http://davesgarden.com/terms/search.php?search_text=Butterfly

- a few more would be good! And how about some dragonflies and maybe the odd hummer?

Here's an interesting rascal - if you'd like some photos of a "Water Scorpion" ? ? ? I posted these on the ID section since I had no idea what it was . . . lol
