BST cocoons green vs. brown

Hi all!
Is it normal to have cocoons in both green and brown? We've had all of the cats who had green cocoons pop out but we have 7 that made their cocoons on twigs or white fabric and they're brown and look like wood or dead leaves. Has anyone seen this? Is it normal?
