Pintung long eggplant

Finally getting eggplant. Years ago I gave up trying to grow them. I surrendered to the victorious flea beetles. But the deck planters are miraculous and not a flea beetle in sight.

Another shot. (I'm overly attached to my eggplants)

They are gorgeous! I tried eggplants last year and gave up for the same darn reason - those flea beetles were a complete and utter force of destruction. I didn't try them this year. Maybe next year I should try them on my patio in containers? Yours look perfect, and no sign of the dreaded flea beetles. Maybe there is hope...

Strange thing......I had some eggplant 2 years ago and did not plant any last year or this year. Today I noticed that I have a volunteer plant in the area of where they were 2 years ago.

I'm so jealous.

I'm growing eggplant for the first time this year - two varieties. So far they are small plants and just barely flowering. boohoo

I did spray them with neem II when they were getting attacked and munched, and that really seemed to help.
