It rained in Converse just now!!!! But it was only 10 minutes!?!?! =(
well just think... that is 10 min you don't have to pay for this week! I bet my water barrels have filled up again!
Oh wait....there she goes again! Full blast! WHOOPEE!!!!
You people are so cruel! lol
Some person up in Oregon reads this thread and is shaking their heads~! *giggle
=) Unfortunately though many areas of the country are HOTTER than us and just as dry. So glad I don't have to dance today. =)
I'm sorry scoolie, I can try to bring you some the next time I come up there. SO/Partner/boyfriend lives in Plano and Great Aunt lives in McKinney off White St.
On your way up, run a long garden hose and i'll add a pump on this end. when i need some i'll call and you can stick your end in one of your rain barrels.
Aww..now you guys are just wrong...lol.. No rain here near Helotes.. :( But they got alot on the south side of town. Dadgum it..... Possibilities are still around tho...
We were in S.A. today and were shocked to see actual rain. We hoped so much our place had some and it did. Only one-tenth of an inch, but every drop helps!
Well we FINALLY got some of that strange wet stuff that falls from the sky on rare occasions :) :) :)
I'm do'n the happy dance over here . . . we has some major league lightening and pretty high winds to go with our inch of rain. I'll have to double check in the daylight tomorrow, but other than two big limbs that didn't harm any thing, the only thing I noticed down so far is a truck load of moss balls from the big oaks. A small price to pay for all that wonderful wet stuff ;)
I'll keep the flute & drum go'n for those of ya'll that didn't get your share yet :)
We got to hear some thunder and watch as the rain went around us.
Patsy
I'm with you scoolie. Green as can be! It looked a little cloudy to the southeast around 5:00, but nothing came of it.
I must be in the only part of Houston that was bypassed for rain yesterday and today. Yesterday the electricity flashed on and off about 4 times with all the lightning, thunder, and wind we had. That's rare where I am; but still not a drop of rain. My good friend sums it up real nicely, "We live in a constant drought frequently interrupted by deluges".
That's Texas...
I received a downpour this afternoon. I need the rain desperately for most of my plants but my potted succulents and cacti are not happy campers. Poor guys don't know what to think.
I'm complaining if it's not raining. I'm complaining if I get too much. Maybe I should choose 1 type of garden and stick to it. Oh, what am I saying, I love them all too much.
They kept saying we had a chance for rain.....but I didn't even get to smell any!
:-((
At least our temps were below a 100 this weekend.
It was cooler here yesterday and today too. Overall, we've had the mildest summer I've seen in at least 10 years down here as far as temperatures go--and good, plentiful rains like we used to get in the summers when I was a kid. I can't complain; I've 'drug' hoses around at least 75% less than usual. The garden looks great--I've just learned to put all my "dry soil, West Texas natives" into big terra cotta pots.

Rain! We are getting a little shower right now. Yipeeeeeeeee! I hope it keeps up throughout the day and tonight. I was already outside watering. Came in to get another cup of coffee and behold the rain had started. I was afraid not to water.
Debbie the last two days have been a little cooler here too. And we even had a breeze. That sure made it nice to be outside.
