I've tried to root this and it hasn't happened yet, does anybody have one that 's rooted. I have lots and lots to trade in return, just let me know what you r looking for.
wanted: Purple Smoke tree rooted
Are those the purple smoke tree, gosh their lovely, I love the leaves, what cha looking for in trade? what are your specialty plants that you like the best, I may have one or two floating around here I can do without.
You must be into tropicals thus your name sake, I have a few tropicals, blood lily, a couple of unnamed oh what are those things called, they smell bad, LOL, amorph??? The name really escapes me, I have tons of brugmansias, a few vines out there in the greenhouse, and lots and lots of other things.
think we can work out a trade.
How easy were they to root for you? Ive tried several times with cuttings offered by friends, to no avail.

Actually, these are parthenocarpic seedlings germinated a couple years ago from this variety: http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/56257/index.html
This means that their particular characteristics might be a bit variable from the cultivar, but they are all quite purple. They did produce "smoke" this spring (you can see a bit of it still hanging on to the left one in the picture). Old wood blooms to produce the wispy effect, new wood produces the small, attractive round leaves. Most people around here trim the sides to get all of the small little round foliage and leave the top (which stops around 10-12') to produce the smoke every year.
Higher than expected survival rates combined with some unexpected late germinations led to my having a lot more than I wanted. :)
My trade lists contain many of my most wanted plants, but I like a lot of things and can usually find something on most peoples' lists that I want. What kind of amorphophallus do you have?
I have no idea which one it is, there are two diff ones out there, and they are both unnamed.
I can do pictures of them tomorrow
Hmm, it would have to be something other than A. konjac (the most common) or A. bulbifer, since I have those two, and I'm not sure I can differentiate varieties from pictures. Perhaps with an idea of what else you have we could discuss other types of plants. I'm not solely interested in tropicals (as my recent coop purchases more than attest!) but names have become important to me as the size of my collections expand again. We could take it to Dmail if you want.
sounds good to me,
I think one of those are jack in the pulpet.
