It has been suggested that the plant in your image is of a different plant than Calathea insignis. A quick Google image search http://images.google.com/images?q=Calathea+insignis shows a different plant with prominant herring-bone colouration on the leaves.

Both Kell and I took pictures of the same plant and the sign in front was also photographed so if it's wrong, then they have it wrong. Please move mine as you see fit.

I'm not one thats big on the latin names but with a bit of research I found C.Sue's pic exactly with the name rattlesnake plant, calathea insignis. But then I also found a plant with a striking lead pattern and no bloom that was also named calathea insignis BUT then it also said calathea lancifolia. Then again another pic said calathea crotalifera. How confusing!! Anyway both were amazingly beautiful plants.

Calif_Sue & tmbolin, calathea crotalifera looks like it is a very close match from the images I could find. What are your thoughts on this?

No, I don't think so. It's described here in DG as:

Bloom Color:
Chartreuse (Yellow-Green)
Pale Green

and it definitely is a bright yellow as Calathea insignis is listed and as the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden has it labeled.
