What's the difference between streptocarpella and streptocarpus? From what I could read, but terribly incomplete I believe, it has to do w/ how the 2 grow, but I am not convinced that I have the whole story.
Any help you can give would be nice.
Question for the smart guys
streptocarpella is actually a subgenus of streptocarpus (in other words, every streptocarpella is a streptocarpus). The really basic distinction is that streptocarpellas have stems while the others do not. Does that help?

oh, and this page actually breaks them down by subgenus.

Ok thanks that's what I read, but it seemed so incomplete. Then I kept seeing nurserys selling streptocarpella as outdoor annuals for warm climates like the folks in FL.
Thanks knew I could count on someone here.
I think it's one of those areas that has been flagged for further study by those guys who do this kind of thing for a living. Here's a bit more info. http://www.botanik.univie.ac.at/morphology/genera_gesneriaceae/genera/streptocarpus.htm
You know I was looking for info on the web and found a pretty good amount of research info- but I seemed to only find abstracts. Thanks.
