My mother use to make a cooked frosting for brownies and cakes that used cocoa and sugar and butter, was then boiled (I think) and then poured over the top of white cake or brownies. I need the recipe if anyone can figure out how it was made.We always got to finish the leftovers out of the sauce pan..*Lick the spoon*.. :-)
