beautiful moth; can you identify?

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

This moth was along the wall where I have a little T.V. and a light we have on at night to keep the racoons away from our pond and koi. Does anyone know its name? I checked some website but they are huge and I don't even which group to check out.

Thank you so much kennedyh. I have found that I really interested in moths because we attract so many and sometimes they are very attractive. I will be using that site a lot.

Poor little thing was at his end, I'm afraid. When I saw him vibrating his wings, I thought so. I had put him back outside, but alas, he has met his demise.
I wonder why they flutter (vibrate) their wings, sometimes for hours, before they die. And I have seen this before.

I once raised some Indian Moon moths inside and noticed they did that too. Maybe it's some last sort of mating call?
